Midway Food Market has great and fresh meat in their store but the real winner is their new restarant a block down the street on the same side of the street. The atmosphere is great; with trophy mounts and historical photos of the city of Katy on the walls. However, the best part of your visit is the food! They have expanded their normal BBQ menu by the addition of more vegetable selections and aftet 4 pm they have delicious chicken fried rib eye steaks and chicken fried chicken.

Over the years Midway Bar-b-q has been part of the Midway Food Market in Old Katy and definitely a well loved staple in the area - it was wonderful in every respect - and everyone loved the way they prepared your order and wrapped it up

Midway has a new cafe the next street over. It's spacious, country looking. It's cafeteria self-service with picnic style tables, rolls of paper towels for napkins. There is no bus boy refilling your water glass or anything. It's all do-it-yourself. There are some interesting old pictures of Katy. Lots of stuffed trophy animals hanging from the walls. The portions are generous, served in paper/styrofoam take-out containers, but there is nothing here to lure me back.

Pros: New clean establishment

Cons: Nothing to set it apart from any other BBQ place

I had several deer processed at Midway. Every package I've opened including cutlets, hamburger and backstrap has had hair on the meat. I personally have processed my own game before and I understand that hair can be left on the meat, but when I pay a processor I??d expect not to find hair in every package. The 1 lbs hamburger packages are all different sizes and there is excess meat on the outside of the package. The backstrap is not trimmed well and the processor left pieces of gristle on the meat. I will go back to using my processor in the Hill Country. Sorry Midway you lost my business!!

We went here and picked up BBQ for dinner. We got huge portions and it was delicious. The brisket was tender and the sausage was perfectly cooked. Very good and easy to order from.

Small, old and quaint but you won't buy meat anywhere else once you shop here. It is fresh and delicious and the service is fast and friendly. They also have the best roasted chicken in the store and to top it off, they have a bar-b-que stand attached to the store that will beat any of the restaurants around. If you are a hunter, they also offer the processing of the deer meat you bring them. They grocery side has just the basics and not much else but who cares?

Don't go here for anything other than meat. This is what they specialize in. They will do any cut for you. It is very inexpensive compared to what you would pay at one of the big boys, kroger or randalls. They do have other things in the store, but don't bother. The meat is fresher than you would get at a local grocery store. sometimes they have a little sandwich stand outside that sells bbq sandwiches. They are very good.
