Johnny Carino's

I am told at one time this place was good but my experience is definitely below that. To start the place was not very clean and it too quite some time to get our drink order (two iced teas). Service on the food order was 35 minutes with the restaurant half full. The lasagna was bland and the Alfredo sauce was milky. I felt this would be what I think the McDonalds of the Italian food would be except a lot slower and pricier. Was not really close to being good and we will not return.

My college student daughter, treated me to Mother's Day dinner at Carino's, understandable service was slow due to crowd. But when it came time to pay the waitress swiped my daughter's bank card for $103, when my daughter brought this to her attention she swiped bank card again for $85 the correct amount. The bank cleared the $85 and put a hold on the $103! We have been trying to work with management to fill out a RELEASE HOLD form that the bank emailed my daughter BUT THEY ARE REFUSING to sign it!!!! instead will send to CORPORATE, which will take weeks!!!! Now my daughter has gotten a NSF charge on a purchase she made that was presented for payment!!!

Mother's Day dinner is now at $250!!!

We love Johnny Carino's so we decided to get it catered for a small party we had. We went to a meeting to set up what food we wanted and the staff was very gracious and helpful and let us sample everything that we wanted catered!! The prices they gave us were very reasonable & we felt very happy with the negotiations. When we got the food on the day of catering everything was perfect except they had put meat in one dish which was supposed be vegetarian but they quickly fixed that and took it off the bill. Overall we will surely get catering from them again, especially for a party of about 15 - 25 people.

We enjoy coming here for some great olive oil bread dip and a good Italian meal (their chicken picata is one of the best). Service has always been good and very polite. It's an open floor plan so it can get pretty loud, so if it's a quiet meal you are looking for, this is not the place to go when it's crowded. We've never had to wait long and there is always parking. Prices are reasonable and you get alot of food.

I called Johnny Carino's (on Wallisville) from work and asked them to fax me a menu, it arrived within minutes! The menu is impressive, offering Homemade Lasagna, (12-layers), Penne Gorgonzola, Eggplant Parmagiana, and Oven Sandwiches among many other GREAT dishes! I phoned in a 'to-go' order, pulled up to the Curb-side Parking area, and was surprised to see that the waiter had just finished bagging my order up. He tossed in 2 hot loaves of steaming bread and I was on my way home. The food was outstanding! Perfect in everyway! Prices are extremely reasonable!!! I am impressed with this restaurant to say the least. Try it for yourself and you'll see that the Italian food is simply outstanding at a great price. The empoyees are courteous and the service is prompt. That's becoming a rarity now days with other restaurants. Two thumbs up!

Johnny Carino's is a Great addition to Houston. The food is wonderful, selection is great and the service and overall value is outstanding! It is a very comfortable place. Go here. It's good. Not trendy, but just plain good!

We were late going to a movie once and we got our order within minutes once we told the waiter or situation. She didn't get anything wrong, either! The food is good, the service is good, the prices are good.

Update: Whatever you do, don't sit next to the ovens. We were seated there the last time and all we did was talk about how hot it was and sweat. The wait staff weren't concerned as I didn't feel any extra A/C coming my way. Food was still good, though.
