Very SMALL PORTIONS; Prices still the same; just LOTS smaller on portions. Waitresses; flip a coin; you might get a good one, a slow one, or a gruppy old nag. I think these comments are rather old. I cannot imagine anyone going now and

I would have given four stars for there brown gravy alone next to a very good entree set up. The sides are most days good and somedays over cooked or misseasoned. The breakfast quality is what brings the stars down. Deep fried overcooked bacon, burnt pancakes and unfiltered or poorly filtered water left a funny taste in my mouth. I would suggest not missing lunch or dinner but take a pass on the breakfast. I have personally never liked dark brown gravy but OMG I have to have it here. Chopped steak and mashed potatos are wonderful.

Texas Tradition is a good family friendly place to eat. We eat there often but mostly after church on Sundays. There is a deck in the back with small playground for the kids. The food is good. My favorite is the Cheesy Chicken sandwich.

This place has it all: atmosphere, great food, good service & good prices. It's very casual, and well organized, from what we saw.

We enjoyed breakfast so much on Saturday that we had lunch there on the way home. :)

Pros: delicious, homemade food & desserts

Cons: only fake butter & no Splenda - but this is being remedied!

Normally I would shy away from postings but todays visit at Texas Traditions was disappointing. The food came out incomplete i.e. - out of marina and no explanation until we asked and fries not included in kids meal. Then the burgers were just subpar. Normally Texas Traditions burgers are good but to receive a lump of meat in the middle of a giant buns was unacceptable. We asked the waitress and she was nice enough to ask and see if there was something they could do and offered to take one of the burgers off. HOWEVER, the owner not only refused to accommodate us but then challenged us when we commented on the food. She said the food was the right "weight" it just didnt' look like it was supposed to. We were not looking for a free meal but simply an acknowledgement that our business matters. There was no courtesy with us even though we have been customers for several years. We commented that we would not come back and the owner didnt' seem to care. In todays economy where going out to eat is a luxury for many I would not recommend going to a place that doesn't appreciate your business.

Small fun restaurant in old Katy that serves great burgers, salads and many other "Texas Taditions" home cooked food. Looks likt it was once a train depot, but is now a cute little restaurant. Close to Katy Pony ballfields, so a good place to eat inbetween games.

This is a great family place. It's clean and the servers are very friendly and attentive. The food is awesome. I had a chicken fried steak - LARGE! Great mashed pots, fried okra, fresh salad all for $10.95. The real deal - not the frozen junk. Homemade cream gravy just like grandma's. Burgers looked awesome. Homemade buns for burgers and sandwiches. Homemade cream pies too! Nice patio for kids to play and live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
