The people that work there as cashiers arent very friendly have no customer service skills and are not helpful at all, they need customer service classes like HEB cashiers.
2I prefer shopping at FOOD TOWN. Occasionally, I'll go to a Walmart for other items. FOOD TOWN prices are much lower even on national brands. Food Town stores are very clean, but it's more in sync with the general supermarket atmosphere most of us grew up shopping in with our parents. Freash Produce, Meats, Dairy, Etc. and friendly employees. I've shopped everywhere and let me tell you...I also worked in the grocery business for 23 years, for Kroger/Weingarten's/Randall's and a couple independents...if you want to fool yourselves to believe that the uppity-uppity chains provide better stores for you to shop in - you're only fooling yourself and blowing your hard earned $$$ by paying higher prices only to help them build their shopping palaces and stuffing their profits. Get smart and head out to a FOOD TOWN near you! You will not regret it...it's the peoples' store!

We have just been hit by a hurricane and members of our family are without electricity-we have 9 children-we went to foodtown to get milk-we picked up 10 gallons for us and other families-we were told that the lomit is 2 per customer-so we put 6 back as instructed -I took 2 and my friend took 2 the floor manager then decided he would not sell to us-accusing us of trying to take more than what was allowed and escorted us out of the store inspite of our plead it was for the families and the children

I have always found the pharmacists to be very courteous and helpful. They always have the medicines in stock. You never have to wait long for a prescription to be filled. Located in grocery stores, makes it convenient to do shopping while you are waiting for your meds.
PROS: Competitive prices on prescriptions.
CONS:
