I'm so pleased with the service I received at Whitaker. Manual was very attentive from the initial estimate to the final delivery of BMW X5. He was patient, understanding, answered my ""too many"" questions and always kept me updated on the status of my car. This shifted a negative situation and inconvenience into something positive. I've never seen my car so clean, even the tire rims were spotless, and the damage to the front end was completley erased. Thanks! We will certainly use your business again if needed, but of course hope that we don't.

The repairs were done perfectly- and they conveyed the feeling that they really cared about their work. I would take my car to Whitaker's again and recommend them to others.

If LQQKS were the only aspect of getting your car fixed, then this place a winner BUT unfortunately that's not the case. The repair looked good but there was something about it that didn't sit well with me. Fast forward 2 months later and I happen to notice my car didn't have the make & model on the back where it's suppose to be! Here I sit in a Macy's parking lot surrounding by every nice car you can think of and I'm not feeling too shabby because I drive an ACURA TL...or so I thought? These fools had forgotten to put the Acura TL Type S emblems back on. I wonder how they forgot...the car was smashed directly in the back and nowhere else, so there was no need for that mistake. I called and they promptly acknowledged the slip and asked me to come in when emblems arrive (5 days- was holiday weekend). I did. I asked if they needed a picture of where to place the emblems...I was told ""no"" and that they ""had pictures of the Acura TL."" O.K., fine suit yourself I think. Long story short: the emblems were put on too high, the GPS was acting up (it was in the back @ impact area) and I heard a funny rattling noise by the tailpipe just that morning! Mind you, I hardly drove this car and decided at that very moment it wasn't going to work for me: I traded it in for a new model that day!!!! So boys and girls if your car needs more than a cosmetic fix: this is not your place, sorry :-(

There are two things certain in life for me: My car will undoubtedly need bumper repairs at least once a year and I will always get it repaired at Whitakers from now on. \r\nFirst off, I am one of those people who never writes reviews, but after going to Whitakers, there is no way I could not write one.\r\nThe bumper of my Infiniti is like a magnet for other cars. Every year, at least one person decides to run into my car bumper, so I've been to quite a few shops. I've wanted to take my car to Whitakers for awhile now, but the other drivers' insurance always said I had to take it to one of theirs (by the way, this is absolutely false, don't ever listen when they say that). Right off the bat I could recognize the amazing customer service. Everyone was extremely polite and nice. In addition, I live downtown, but the insurance for the driver who hit me said the Lakeway Whitakers location is on their list of places or whatever and it would be easier for me to get my car repaired there. I contacted the Lakeway location and they said to drop the car off at their South Austin location and they will drive to their Lakeway location to fix and then drive it back for me to pick up. Steve, the owner, said, ""We'll always do whatever is the easiest and best for you.""\r\nWhen I got my car back, the repairs were flawless. Every other body shop I've been to, there were always problems with the repairs. But, as their were transporting my car over, the spare motor oil container I keep in my trunk exploded. They informed me and cleaned it, and then hooked me up at Genie Car Wash for free to clean it even more. No biggie, because it could have easily happened to me and I would have had to pay for car cleaning.\r\nTwo days later, I noticed the paint on my bumper was cracking. I felt bad about the transportation service they gave me, especially after the motor oil incident, so I went into the Lakeway shop directly. It puzzled them for a little bit, but they were readily prepared accept responsibility and fix it for free and pay for a car rental. After closer examination, they found that someone had backed into my bumper (go figure), and showed me the dent, and that was the cause. However, they STILL fixed it for FREE! I got my car back today, and again a flawless repair. (Note: when I got to the shop, they still offered to do the transportation service from South Austin to Lakeway, but I declined for the reason mentioned above).\r\nBottom line: Whitakers provides the BEST customer service I have seen anywhere, not just in the car repair industry, and they fix cars to perfection. If you need any kind of car repair, you MUST take your car to Whitakers. \r\n

When I first got some body work on my car all looked well until I took my car in to my mechanic. He asked me ""has anyone worked on your car recently?"" I found a used bumper and bought some new headlights, and Carlos was a man of his word: Whitaker's installed the bumper and headlamps at a reasonable price, with no pressure for any service I didn't want. The whole deal ended up costing me half the original estimate. They did a great job, for the price they quoted me, and in the time they said they would. Great service, good people.

UPDATE: Several months have passed since my initial review, and the owner of the shop has contacted me to apologize for the service I received, inform me that the manager responsible for my car's repair was fired and ask me to remove my review. Although everything I've stated below remains true, I appreciate the effort to make amends.\r\n\r\nThis is the first review I've ever done, and I only became a member to warn others about this shop. I chose it because of the high recommendations on this site, but there are just not words to explain how dissatisfied I am with the experience I've had. On a scale of 1 to 10, they get a -12. \r\n\r\nMy car's been in their shop for two months now, and I've called at least weekly for updates. I've left messages, stopped by in person or talked to the staff. They are always courteous and blankly tell me they'll call me back, which has actually happened maybe 3 times. That's out of two months of requests for information. When I stopped by in person, my car was buried in the back amongst hundreds of other cars. This shop clearly has more on their hands than they can handle with any semblance of reasonable efficiency. I've been told for the past 3 weeks that the car would be ready 'by Friday'; I've been told they're waiting for parts; I've been told that mine will be the first in line in the paint shop and the techs will stay after hours until it's done. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I have no choice but to believe these are all flat-out lies, which I told the owner today. \r\n\r\nMy accident was the other drivers' fault, so the repairs and the rental car are covered. It takes pretty bad service to make someone receiving a service for free this angry. As I told the owner today, they could offer me thousands of dollars of free repair work, and I would NEVER turn my keys over to them again. Save yourself months of headaches and go anywhere else in town. Or learn to repair it yourself - that might actually be faster and easier.

I am a nit picky neat freak. No bones about it, but especially when it comes to my beloved Z3. Most people are surprised at my attention to the tiniest detail and thus I tend to be a nightmare to most detailers, body shops? but not Whitakers. Joe Hernandez is a great guy who understands my need for perfection. As a woman, it is often challenging and or uncomfortable to interact with car shops of any sort as they tend to think a woman, doesn?t have a clue nor can she appreciate automobiles. I am very happy with the service the Whitakers staff provided, they were courteous and went the extra effort to make sure I was comfortable every step of the way, including wanting to inspect their paint booth. It was the best I have seen! They took a multitude of pictures of my car before any work was done and I was able to go online and see my car during the process. This was a great help when I had questions? and I always have questions. \r\n\r\nThey delivered the car exactly when they said they would. I rrrreeeeaaallllyy look over the car when it is done, and even though it was closing time (on a Friday no less) they allowed me all the time I wanted to really look and at the car. They did not rush me, they did not try to hide the car under dirt, or sloppy wax. Being a perfectionist, it is normal for me to spot something irregular on the car after it has been in the shop. While I did take the car back the following Monday to attend a minor issue that most people wouldn?t even see.. the Whitakers staff was again courteous and did not hassle me, they simply took the car and made it perfect within a few hours. Again, they delivered the car exactly when promised and again when I came to pick up the car, it was closing time and again, they allowed me all the time I wanted to go over the car and ensure my satisfaction. I am completely happy with Joe and Whitakers. They have proved themselves to be top notch people who really care about their customers and their product.
