These caverns are just a45 mins drive from the colonade. They are just amazing and the touring guides do a wonderful job at explaining all the nook and corners and the caverns are a place worth visiting in san antonio. The adventure tour is just wonderful and googling will save you around $2 per person.

Visited the Natural Bridge Caverns this summer ona trip with another family and was blown away. It was absolutely beautiful. The basic North Cavern tour was reasonably priced, (you can get a small discount if you order your tickets online). The tour route was short enogh to be manageable, even for the two 4 year olds with us. The formations were fascintating, I actually though it was prettier than what I remember of the Carlsbad Caverns. Parts of the route are steep and/or slick, but the guides are very good about warning you when these patches are coming up, and there are handrails when needed. There are other, more extensive tours offered, including an Adventure Tour ($95.00) that lasts 3-4 hours. I would love to do this sometime in the future, but we couldn't with the kids with us, you have to be 13 yrs old or older for this tour. One lst benefit, the caverns are a nice cool respite (although humid) from the Texas heat.

This is one of the most beautiful tours I have enjoyed. The caverns formations are everywhere so from start to finish there is something to see. The staff knows all the history and your tour guide is teaching you as you go, so its not just a site seeing tour. They have a great picnic area with a play ground under shady trees for lunch after your tour and you can also buy some mining sand and do some mining for gems and fossils in there mining camp area. They have a gift shop and a movie theater type food court. If you making a day of it be sure you go to the wildlife drive park too.

Natural Bridge Caverns is located south of Austin and San Marcos and has a wonderful atmosphere. The cave isn't cramped feeling, and has large paths and a wondeful tour guide. The price for the guided tours is very reasonable, and the natural views all around are great.

The caverns are beautiful and awe insipring. We recently made a trip and even our youngest daughter (2) appreciated the beauty of the caverns. They offer different types of tours each exploring a different aspect of the caverns. If you get a chance to see Natural Bridge Caverns you should go, you won't regret it.
