Along with photo services and equipment, we take passport photos and foreign country ID photos, (infants and small children, no problem). The recent Scrapbooking craze hit Ballard Camera in 1992 and since then we have become a local leader in paper, stickers and supplies. Whether you are a digital camera shooter or prefer traditional film, you will find knowledgeable, friendly people to assist you with equipment and services such as on line ordering and in store kiosks where you can order prints on the spot. We are a kid friendly environment with lots of toys on hand make shopping easier for moms and dads, (doggie treats too!) We also, recently became an official United States Post Office, to help with your shipping needs. Imagine, a real US Post Office with no lines (and no mark-up). The staff was very interesting and fun to talk with; they helped me find just about everything I needed and offered to order the things they didn't have. Great selection of new and old cameras. Very nice online accomodations- quick turn around.
The store was a little cluttered; but I wouldn't consider it messy.

Good location in Ballard. Kind of wierd staff, we went in to get our passport pictures taken and had to bring them back due because they were not taken according to Passport photo standards. It was a big inconvenience because we had to go back and forth. However, we have had 35 mm pictures developed and liked how they turned out. I didn't think parking was too bad, since you can run in and out pretty quickly.

PROS: Great variety of camera equipment!

Ballard Camera has everything you could ask for in the photo world. Every kind of processing you could imagine- film and digital. Online photofinishing is, also, available. They have frames, scrapbook supplies and albums. The staff is friendly and informative.

PROS: 30 minute digital photos
CONS: parking

Ballard camera offers just about everything for the amateur or professional photographer. They have 1 hour photo service for prints or slides. Their expert staff is very helpful when it comes to tips and suggestions about photography in general. If they don't have something, they can suggest another place that might have it. They also have lots of scrapbooking supplies for crafters.

CONS: closed on Sundays

NEVER NEVER NEVER go here. I'm not an unreasonable person, and I understand how hard it is to have exceptional customer service every time. However, this is unprofessional, and unacceptable.

Ballard Camera has poor printing, and poor policy. I recently turned in 3 rolls of film to be developed, and when I received my prints I noticed lines and scratches. I checked the negatives and they were ruined as well. I returned my prints, and they said they would reprint them, but assured me it was more than likely the fault of my own camera, and not their printing.

I got the new prints back and I had even MORE scratches and lines. I complained, and asked that my money ($60) be returned because my photos were now ruined. They told me that was impossible, and that they have a zero return policy.

If you enjoy paying money for ruined film, enjoy Ballard Camera

Cons: Terrible staff, and awful processing.

I love Ballard Camera, I can't say that enough. I am an amateur photographer, and they've always done top notch processing for me. I've had some odd jobs done there too, such as prints from the 1940's, old school negatives, sepia printing, etc... it always comes out great. They also helped me solve some problems with slide film shooting I had... they seem to really know their stuff, and they're really nice and quick. The only down-side I see is that they close at 6:00, and often I can't get there by then...

Pros: Awesome processing, Knowlegeable, Large stock/options

Cons: They close at 6:00, Not a huge variety

Ballard Camera is a very service oriented institution. The staff is exceptional! You get professional quality photo finishing at a fraction of the cost of the pro-labs in town! I love there online photofinishing. They, also, have scrapbooking!
