2 Stars: Von's Grand City Cafe (by Sandra B.)

We attended an afternoon show at the Paramount Theatre and then decided to have dinner at Von's. Our party of 4 arrived before 5 PM (when the dining room opens) so we were jammed into the bar area of the restaurant. The waiter was not happy with something so communicating with him was not a good experience - I would consider that he was actually rude to us. In any event when our food arrived, 1 of the entrees was the wrong salad and so he grabbed the dish and took it back to the kitchen. A bread item was omitted for 1 of the other orders. The turkey which I ordered was not well prepared and had little taste and the vegetables were undercooked -- not just crunchy, more like raw. A very bad choice for dinner and I could not recommend this restaurant.

3 Stars: Martinis Are Their Middle Name (by Tiffany J.)

This place is located downtown right across from the Pacific Place Mall. I like to see a movie at Pacific Place then go over there for a vodka martini. They make 'em good there, and the place is always lively, but not over-crowded. They have a great selection of martinis on their cocktail menu, plus all other drinks if you don't like those as much as I do. They also serve good food, so it is a nice stop after a day of shopping or sightseeing. You know you're tired, and need a place to chill out. So, stop at Vons because it is so conveniently located next to all the downtown spots. Also it is not overly pricey or crowded like some spots can be. Warning, some of the clientele can be a little yuppyish. I usually ignore 'em and have a good time anyway.

PROS: martinis done well
CONS: yuppies

4 Stars: unlimited, infinite martinis galore (by shianxiu s.)

this place surely does serve up to its name "von's martini" for it has a numberless count of martinis. and what is really fun in particular is this spinning thing familiar to the price is right spinning thing, and wherever the needle is in a particular time (i think it spins by hour), that is the happy hour special martini. the place may sound as though it is sporty, but rather it is very classy and sophisticated style of sporty. much of the crowd are businessmen.
