Kids love this museum, and adults find it interesting, too! The MD Science Center does a nice job of keeping exhibits fresh and allowing exhibits to linger long enough for everyone to appreciate them and get a feel for them, but not too long for them to become stale and old. They rotate them throughout the year, so kids have something new to discover and enjoy. Everything is hands on; it isn't boring, rote memorization, but exhibits that kids can engage in, learn through discovery, and make their own. This was designed with kids in mind, knowing kids have active imaginations and bodies, and want to let loose and enjoy, not have barriers and prohibitions on touching exhibits.

This is a great educational place for kids. They frequently have special displays that they advertise that they change every so often. It covers many different scientifc fields including: space, dinosaurs, electricity, sound and many others. They also feature interactive theaters where science center employees demonstrate scientific principals or show exotic animals. One of the children's favorites is the Van de Graf generator. It's that big ball that makes everyone's hair stand on end!
PROS: Fun and Educational
CONS: A bit pricey and often very crowded

The Science Center always has something new to check out. The iMax theater is just amazing, and when special shows are being put on with 3D effects they give out 3D glasses which make it even better. There is a great kid's room, but even besides that, the whole place is made for kids. New exhibits are coming all the time, and even old ones are interesting, such as the electricity ball and other old-time favorites.

My school used to take us here for field trips so I've always enjoyed it. The Imax theater is a experience not to missed,we bought tickets to a showing about the space station and it was amazing.
PROS: Imax,location
CONS: parking, not much for little kids
This is a fun museum not geared toward preserving history on factual cards, but having colorful, interactive displays where kids can let loose, explore the world, and satisfy their curiosity. The science arcade is reminiscent of a video arcarde in malls, except it teaches about the world of light, sound, and mechanics. Kids can spend hours in each section, and the exhibits rotate every few months, so coming back is always a treat to find out what new gadgets and gizmos they added to explore and learn about.

This is a good museum mainly for the little ones. They have all kinds of exhibits from a mini lab to a nail bed. But you quickly get bored and tired, at least the kids will have fun.
3The Maryland Science Center is a wonderful attraction for natives and tourists alike. They have frequent special exhibits, so it's never the same place twice. They have excellent children's activities for all ages that make learning not just fun but delightful. The IMAX theater is a wonderful addtion to any trip.

We recently visited here with my 2 year old and she loved it! They have a kids room that is safely isolated so that they can run around and explore! It has a water table and train table, plus many other things for the kids to learn about. My daughter loved the pin screen and magnets! I will be taking her back there and I recommend it to all mom with kids under the age of 8!
