I was an employee of Dr. Edwards' for several years and I can truly attest to this Dr.'s compassion, skill and pride in his product. There are many Endodontists to choose from, but this is the guy you'll want to call for a great experience and a great root canal at that!

In need of an emergency root canal, I went to Dr. Edwards because of the highly positive things I had heard from others concerning his work. I was completely impressed: Upon arriving for my appointment I was immediately taken back and made comfortable. Not only was the office polished and friendly, but Dr. Edwards dispelled my nervousness by talking me through the procedure before-hand, and preparing me for what post-operative care and healing would entail. There was very, very little discomfort and I was 100% satisfied with the results - having never felt discomfort since. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone in need of endodonic care.

I am a patient of Dr. Cliff Brock and am wildly happy with the service I recieve through him, however I went to see Dr. Kevin Edwards last week and felt very uncomfortable. Dr. Edwards seems pretty nice but very un-warm and "all business." It shocked me that when he was done he plainly said a few short words when I still had stuff in my mouth and then left the room. His assistant seemed sweet but I think it was probably her first day there and that was very stressful to watch even for me. It kind of also confused me when his accountant came marching in before he started and told me plainly how much money she needed TODAY. I was kind of in shock, I did not know places ran like that. I have had root canals at a couple different places in Portland and Lake Oswego and I had never encountered anything like that. Even though the procedure was quick...I am not sure I will ever go back if the opportunity comes.

I walked into Dr. Edward's office frightened, and left with a weight lifted off my shoulders. not only was the root canal quick and painless, I made a definite connection with Dr. Edward's and his nurse, (Lindsay, I believe.) They were friendly with compassion to spare. The receptionist Linda was caring and organized. I would recommend the office to anyone.

Cons: having to come downtown

Had very unpleasant experience getting root canal treatment from this dentist and his assistant. Novacaine wore off too soon and he wouldn't stop and take the time to give me more. I've had many treatments from other top notch endodontists so I know that this was not right. Neither he nor his assistant offered me one word of comfort or help. Finally, after I nearly forced him to stop, he used some type of anesthetic, but by then I was practically in shock, tears streaming down my face. The stuff he used still didn't work very well, and he kept leaving to treat someone else, in another room. The actual root canal may turn out well, but I have had trouble sleeping ever since this experience, and will never go back.

Pros: can't think of any right now--there are plenty of good DDS's in Portland

Cons: low standard of care for pain control or comfort of patient
