After waiting an hour in the office, Jordan Jacobson did not even introduce himself. The first thing out of his mouth was how hungry he was and that they could all go on lunch after this surgery which made me nervous because I thought they might rush through the procedure.
He barely let the anesthetic take effect before he started and the operation was a painful nightmare. He had to stop a few times to inject me with more anesthetic and didn't let that take effect either. I have had three wisdom teeth taken out before, by another surgeon, and it never hurt. The operation was over fairly quickly. After all, he and the staff were hungry.
This procedure was a complicated one because the tooth was touching a nerve, from my understanding of what was told to me after the fact, and he did not tell me that this would be a risky procedure or that there might be consequences. Had he I would most certainly opted out of the procedure because I was on the fence about him to begin with. It has been 3 days since the surgery and I can not feel my lips or chin on the right side of my face. This means that the nerve was manhandled and the damage is still unclear.
He called me "Sweetheart" after the operation, which was unprofessional and insulting. His demeanor was arrogant.
I told Jacobson that I had a prior condition that might be a contraindication to certain painkillers/anti-inflamatory and he prescribed those painkillers anyway. When I found out the next morning (I was a little out of it after the surgery) I called up and Jordan Jacobson was difficult to reach. When Jacobson finally did call, he told me he would call in another painkiller "right away" and he did not. It took another hour and multiple calls, dealing with his rude staff, to finally get Jacobson to call in the prescription.
He blamed his secretary, Jerry. Jerry called me and blamed Jacobson for not calling. No one took responsibility.
This was at Jordan Jacobson's USA Dental office at 175 Madison Avenue New York, NY 10016 - (212) 532-2000. He has another office as well. I would make sure not to let that butcher, or anyone at USA Dental , go anywhere near your mouth.
