Both my kids had Dr. Handler and loved him. My daughter was 3 and my son started seeing him when he was 9. My son had a cholesteatoma (cyst) that was enlarged and had grown around the ossicles. He removed the growth and performed the follow up procedure to implant a prostheses. He was compassionate and understanding. He explained everything in great detail. Not only did he provide his home number, but called us to ensure the recovery was as expected when my son was brought home. My kids found him to be amusing which minimized their stress. I prefer the Philadelphia office over Voorhees as the Voorhess personnel are not as people oriented.

My 3 year old son and 2 month old daughter was seen by this physician today and it was the worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. Dr. Handler was completely patronizing and ignorant. He didn't want to understand our concerns as parents nor did he want to take the time to try. He did nothing but make my husband and I feel like our concerns weren't legitimate and that we were wasting his precious time. His examination of my son was rough as well. I do not recommend him to anyone and with his bedside manner he should not even be in practice anymore. It is definitely time for him to retire. My ownly regret at this point is that I didn't let him know what I thought of him to his face because that is the kind of disrepect that he deserves. It's a shame that he represents CHOP.

Dr Handler was abrupt and rough in his treatment of my three month old infant daughter. He was rushed and seemed too inpatient to answer questions. His assistant was also unapproachable, They both checked her throat very roughly to the point where she was screaming. They made no effort too understand her situation beyond what was presented in the chart. They were patronizing in their treatment of me as a parent.

Dr. Handler is a fantastic Pediatric ENT. He was wonderful with my son. My son had several procedures and surgeries, and each time Dr. Handler left us with his home number in case of problems. Further, he called us to check on my son's condition. Because he practices out of a satellite office of CHOP, the office and wait can be a bit chaotic, but Dr. Handler is well worth this slight inconvenience. He is truly one of the best specialists we have visited.
