I think these are the best sneakers for the recreational runner who has flat feet but doesnt want orthotics. I found the staff helpful but not terribly knowledgeable.

A great store with great staff. perfect place to get lost in a book...
They also give us (a non public school) discounts on books for our students.
Appleone
Go here only as a last resort. They dont know what they are doing here and wont place you unless you bother them day and and day out, and even then I am not so sure... they give you a series of computer 'tests" even if they do not relate in any way to what you are trying to do, and dont care if you have an associates degree or a masters degree because they probably dont know the difference
Apple Third Street Promenade
Fun place to play with all of the cool gadgets. there is usually a presentation of some new software going on in the back of the store. The sales people are knowledgable and friendly. We were there for hours buying 3 new laptops for work and they patiently helped us out, set us up and were available later on for additional questions.
Santa Monica BMW
Nice cars but not usually the best deal on a BMW. We were ignored the day we went in and practically had to beg for help.
Later on we asked for a reccomendation for a body shop and they sent us to some seedy place. Shop elsewhere for your car--I like the dealer in Van Nuys.
Sonhaven Cna Prep Academy INC (non-Profit Corporation)
First class waxing at competive rates. They make you feel comfortable while taking it all off.
They do hair and skin care there too, but I have not tried it.
Pure Beauty Salon
They carry a variety of high end skin care products, hair care, make-up and other fun beauty supplies. If you are a member you can earn beauty points towards future services. Don't get any services done there (hair or skin care) though. The staff is somewhat helpful, although they endorse every product so it is har to believe them sometimes.
Fazio Cleaners
Next day service, an emergency number in case you need your dress now and they are closed, they really do it right, on time or it is free. Slightly more expensive than elsewhere--take your finest here, and the rest to a cheaper place.
Market Cocina
The freshest produce with the greatest variety. Its very clean and well kept. The staff is helpful and there are always tons of samples.
Prices are higher than Ralphs or Vons, but well worth it.
lucy Activewear
The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, and they have something for everyone for every sport, or those who just want to look sporty. The prices are not cheap, but the sales are good and the clothing is quality.
