Nyovee Moore is a designer who runs her own belt and jewlrey business. Her belts are hot, and so is her jewelry. Sold at Barneys and other high end stores, her belts are being snapped up by celebrites left and right. Don't fret though. The Apple Pan
The Apple Pan has been around forever, and so have the employees that work there, most of them look like they are in their 60's and 70's. Always a challenge to get a seat at lunch or dinner time, the Apple Pan is worth the wait for their Hickory Burger! Fresh off the grill, these guys know how to make a burger. Part of the charm is that it is small, tough to find a seat, and only accepts cash. The only seats are in a square shaped bar surrounding the grill. It doesn't have to pretend to be a relic of the 1950's like Jonny Rockets; it is a relic and totally authentic. It is open until Midnight and there is usually a line. The fries are made in pure lard, so if you don't like to eat Pig derivatives, than you think twice about chomping into the thick, golden brown fries. If I am anywhere in West LA, I would never go anywhere else for a burger, even if I have to eat it in my car parked in a metered space on Pico Boulevard.
Funky Revolution
Funky Revolution is a cool place for cheap but funky clothes. The store has a wide variety of clothes from many different kinds of stores such as American Rag to the Limited. No matter wahat, their bottom line is funk. The average prices range from $15-$25, so considering the cheap prices I have to give this place a very good rating as they combine some trendy style cheap prices. They have clothes for both men and women. You probably wouldn't want to buy your whole wardrobe here as the quality ofclothes is not incredibly sturdy, but you can find some fun pieces to compliment your wardrobe. Their sweat pant selection for women is great!
Out Of The Closet
For a thrift shop, this Out if the Closet is pretty good. They have a great LP and Vinyl section accompanying a myriad of tapes. I saw VCR machines that were only $15.00! The great news about this thrift store is that 95 cents of every dollar goes directly to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. From shoes, to bags, to clothes, to electronic appliances, this Out of the Closet has a decent collection. You never know, you can find some real steals amongst all of stuff you might not want. The clothes looked in good condition; however the purses did not. Good luck bargain hunting!
California Healing Arts College
They have been around since 1988. This massage school has a great clinical studies program of which I take full advantage. The no-frills massages are only $28.00 and you don't have to tip...ahhh...refreshing. The students need to work on real peopleto gain hours and the few students from whom I have received massages were all very good. The facilities are modest, but the massage you receive for the price you pay outweights the spa atmosphere. It takes a week or two to get an appointment, so callahead of time and be prepared to wait a few weeks to get in.
F & S Fabrics
Established in 1956, this fabric store sells upholstery and drapery fabrics. THe prices are not outrageous and their variety of fabcir is quite extensive ranging from imported chenilles, damasks, silks, velvets, linens, tapestries, sheers and lace. Of course they sell all the other accoutrements such as tassels, tie-backs, buttons and ribbons. Parking is available in the back. I highly recommend this fabric store.
Baskin-Robbins
A classic. A staple. Approximately 31 flavors. Need I say more? Tucked away on Canon Drive in Beverly Hills, Baskin Robbins offers friendly service with a smile. With plenty of free samples to go around, this Baskin Robbins gives me a certain delight. Perhaps it beckons the nostalgia of going there when I was a kid. Perhaps you just can't go wrong with 31 flavors. It is good to know some things never change. The ice cream is still great and so is the service. Hurray!
Hillcrest Country Club
Excellent facilities ranging from valet parking, a nice golf course, tennis courts, work out rooms, a bar, golf and tennis shops makes Hilcrest a great country club; however, the personell are sticklers for the rules. If you order a drink from the bar,be prepared for the woman who works behind the bar to tell you that you need to tuck in your shirt. If you find these rules outdated and a little ridiculous, than this may not be your top choice for a country club. If you don't mind abiding by some specific rules, than get ready to hit some golf balls!

Project Stone by Belstone (Bruskin International) is an importer of high quality marble and granite. They specialize in supplying excellent quality stone at wholesale prices for multi-family housing and hospitality industries. Their recent expansion into custom design furniture tailored to client's needs makes this company top notch. I highly recommend them.
The Massage Place
The Massage Place offers $45.00 massages. I wanted a relatively cheap massage, but $45.00 isn't that cheap, especially when signs are posted everwhere that the recommended gratuity is $10-20%. It is, however, cheaper than a spa where you pay for the amenities, which are definitely lacking at the Massage Place in space and decoration. My massage therapist conducted my massage with the lights on throughout 75% of the massage until I think he realized he forgot to turn them off in the first place. I booked a deep tissue massage and ended up instead with a hybrid of shiatsu, accupressure, and "I may break your ribs and puncture a lung because I'm pressing so hard on your tiny frame" technique. The cradle for my head was uncomfortable, causing my jaw to feel more tight than it ever had before. Once it was over, I asked him what kind of technique he used on me. He replied proudly that it was a combination of everything he had ever learned.
