50's Furniture
The furniture showroom of custom cabinet maker Soli Jeshourun (see Soli Craft in Culver City), features custom and vintage mid-century designs. Great for modern platform beds, credenzas, and tables at reasonable prices. Also, great danish and vintage pieces. I have a bed and custom cabinets from Soli and will go back again.
Soli Craft
Soli craft is one of LAs best custom cabinet makers. In fact, Soli (the man himself) also offers his wares, including custom and vintage, mid-century furniture at 50's Furniture on 3rd St. near the Bev Center. He has made me a platform bed, several storage and media cabinets, and is also doing some shelves for my kitchen. Highly recommended for any custom cabinets or unique furniture.
Gloria's Cafe
I have been going to Gloria's for the past 7 years. It started as a small shack behind the Ralph's on Olympic and Barrington, and several years ago, Gloria moved east to the Palms area and a full-on kitchen. Gloria and her 2 sons serve some of the best Pupusa's and Salvadoran food in all of LA. Best of all, you are always greeted by first name and with a smile.
