LACMA is a great museum that has a ton to offer for different personalities and interests. I was recently there during the "From Renoir to Matisse" exhibit. It was amazing...the pieces were beautifully displayed and the gift shop was decked out in a ton of art-related stuff ranging from cookware to music from France. The entire layout of LACMA is very visually and physically pleasing. In addition, they have free jazz nights on Fridays where they highlight talented jazz artists. It's a great place for a first date and/or to hang out with friends. I also recommend this museum for out of town guests.
I've always liked Big 5 Sports. They always carry a huge variety of sports related products. The prices are pretty good and I've found the employees to always be quite cordial. They have merchandise and active wear for all types of sports ranging from soccer, golf, football, softball/baseball, volleyball, rollerblading, and normal exercise gear. They have your average sporting needs here at this one store. I totally recommend them and I would seriously watch out for their sales when you can get some major deals.
We opened up a new checking and savings account at this Washington Mutual branch and it was a very good experience overall. Farah was very patient, helpful, and informative. She was able to explain all of our options clearly and made the whole process very simple. In addition, this particular branch is very nice. It's one of those new banks that have the tellers out in the middle of the room versus behind thick glass walls. We felt a little odd at first, because the atmosphere is a new environment, but overall we felt welcomed. We've been pleased with their services so far.
If you're looking to be hand-held and/or excellent customer service, then this is not the place to go. Home Depot is great because they have a huge variety of products and all of your home renovating needs, etc. They're not great if you're looking for recommendations and/or guidance on how to do your next home project. The staff aren't very friendly in general and can be a little abrupt in answering your questions. I believe that they're just understaffed overall making it harder on both the customers and the employees.
I love this new spa! I just finished having the greatest experience today at Lush Spa. As soon as I walked in, everyone was so friendly and accomodating. This is definitely the place to go to be pampered and for relaxation. My fiance gave me a gift of a "dirty martini" facial and a 60 minute "merlot" massage. It was complete heaven. The atmosphere at Lush Spa is very clean and comfortable. They have personal robes, slippers, and lockers for your belongings while you're there. They also do waxing, laser hair removal, manicures/pedicures, and other special spa services. I love this new spa and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing place to go for a massage and for some personal pampering.
I love this museum! It's the opposite of anything else you'll find out there! This museum is not caught up in the mainstream art sponserships, overpriced giftshops, pristine atmosphere attitude of many other museums. As soon as you walk up to the front door, you ring a doorbell and are buzzed into the establishment. You're not sure if you're walking into private pawn shop or an eccletic antique dealer. As soon as you step in, you're greeted by a volunteer host and invited to sign the guest list. Donations are accepted and no cover charge is required. The museum is dark and you're waiting to see what's next around each corner. All the while, you're wondering..."Is this for real????" There's a ample amount of exhibits to see and experience here. I totally recommend going upstairs to the Tea Room to have some biscuits and tea (for free!). The theatre is usually playing an odd film of some sort that you're constantly trying to interpret. I give this place two thumbs up and encourage you to walk off of
This store is small and quaint but has an okay selection of dresses. I would suggest sending your bridesmaids here before sending the bride. They have more of a selection of dresses for the bridesmaids. The prices aren't bad either. Lots of colors, styles, etc. The staff here were hit and miss. During one visit, we were kinda given the cold shoulder. The second visit, everyone was very friendly and willing to help out. My main complaint was that my fiance called in to see if they carried a specific dress style and size...they said yes. She made an appointment and we came in to try it on. Behold, when we got there they didn't have the dress and said that they never carried that dress. They weren't sure why their staff member told us otherwise. It was quite disappointing b/c we were really looking forward to seeing and trying on that dress.
Pebbles has a huge selection of dresses for the bride and/or the bridal party. They have everything from traditional to trendy styles and they carry a ton of designers there. The staff was pretty friendly too. My only issue was that I didn't really care for the dressing room set up. I couldn't really tell where guys were allowed to go and not. It just seemed like girls were running around all over half clothed. It was just a bit hectic. I would suggest going on a weekend when it's a little quieter and you can get some more personal help from one of the staff members.
We stopped into this store a few weeks ago to research a new cell phone plan and we were very pleased with the phone options and plans. We went in on a weekday, which I think helped out a lot. I heard that these stores can get really hectic on the weekends. I really felt like they were trying to acommodate our needs and to work around our budget. I felt that it wasn't any scam to get more money from us. I think they just want to build loyal customers and to provide a solid product. There was no pressure to purchase today too. That's a huge plus...we hate pushy salesmen. Overall, I recommend this place for your next cell phone purchase. I think that you get the most for your money at T Mobile.
This is the place to go for all of your printing and office needs. I particularly like this Kinko's because the staff has always been quite friendly and accomodating. They get a bit busy at times, but if you plan ahead, you can usually get your orders finished in ample time. I had some of my work binded just the other day and they fit me in during a really busy schedule. I appreciated they're willingness to help me out in a jam. Most of the services there are self-serve which can be intimidating during your first visit. They have staff wandering around to help out and/or to direct you if you're not tech-savvy. The prices are about average, but they're open 24 hours.
