Nestle Toll House Cafe
This was the first time I ever went to a Toll House cafe, I didn't even know they existed. The shop sells ice cream, cookies, icecream drinks and smoothies. Everything they have looks delicious and I'd love to sample it all if I could! The sales people were accomodating, although not the most friendly. The atmosphere was very clean and neat. The prices were reasonable; about what you'd expect from this type of place. The smoothie I got was delicious and I would definetly go back.
Mrs. Fields
I was very surprised at how nice the people here were. Most of the stores in the mall, it was a miracle if anyone spoke to you or said hello when you walked up. They were very friendly and personable when I was buying my cookies from them. The area was neat and clean, and the cookie was delicious. They had a good selection but not many left in a lot of the flavors. The overall experience was positive.
Nordstroms
I don't know how they usually do things at Nordstroms, but I was surprised at their lackluster service. I went through two different shoe departments and passed several workers, and not one of them acknowledged me or asked if I needed anything. It wasn't really a bad thing, considering they didn't have anything I liked. Their sale wasn't impressive. The store wasn't kept up well; there were shoeboxes and shoes lying everywhere that no one had cleaned up. Not impressed.
Bcbg
I wasn't impressed by the BCBG at the Westside Pavillion. Maybe because its a smaller location they weren't as rigid on hiring. When I walked in, two sales associates were discussing their personal lives. I looked around for a while, and five or ten minutes later one of them asked if I was finding things alright, and the other finally said hello in a rather snobbish manner. Now, the girls who worked at the Hollywood & Highland location were very friendly and helpful, so I was a bit surprised. However, the store was neat and they had a decent selection.
Priveledge
I had never heard of or been in this boutique before. Now, its definetly one of my faves in this mall. All the girls there were very friendly, and actually greeted me when I walked in (which is rare in this mall). They didn't try to hard to sell, but one sales person in particular was very helpful when I needed it. They're prices are a bit steep, but the clothes are adorable. They have a great selection of handbags and shoes as well. The store was kept well and nicely organized. The only thing I didn't like was that they seemed to only have one dressing room, which had no lock and there was no way to tell if it was occupied or not.
Blockbuster Video
I usually don't go here because their prices are higher than Hollywood Video. Also, their new "no late fees" promo has a catch if you read the fine print. The last time I went they had an okay selection, but didn't seem to have as many new videos as some places. It was a clean store but something about it seemed small and claustrophobic. The staff wasn't very helpful. Thankfully, their lines were short and we didn't have to wait long.
Albertsons
This isn't the worst supermarket in town, but definetly not the best. They have an okay selection. Recently there have been several products out of stock on multiple occasions, and that has been frusterating. They are pretty clean and the atmosphere is average for a supermarket. They also don't have a Starbucks like all Albertsons are supposed to have. I don't really like that. Most of the staff is pretty friendly.
Kohl's
This store is very similar to Mervyns, all though I like it slightly better. Like most department stores, they have very cheesy, flimsy and tacky looking Juniors clothing. The Misses and Womens clothing are a slightly better quality. They have a decent variety of different housewares and what not. What I really love is their shoes. They always have good prices and a nice selection. The staff is friendly, but nothing special.
Russo's Books
I like this bookstore because its a nice, quant locally owned shop. Of course they don't have the variety that the larger chains do. But if you're looking for general titles, this is a great place to go. They are neat, organized and clean. The staff is very friendly. For the space that they have, their selection is pretty good. I also love their magazines, which they have a lot of.
Borders
This is a great place to get your books. It might not be as extensive as Barnes & nobles, but its definetly close. They are usually less busy and easier to find things. The store is always neat and clean and well organized. The staff is friendly. Their prices can be bit high, usually you can find things cheaper at Target.
They also have a great cafe where they sell delicious drinks and treats.
