Rite Aid

This is a nice place to run to if you need to pick something up fast. Their staff is okay, could be better. They have a lot of young people who could be more friendly. Their older staff is pretty helpful.

The main gripe I have is their Pharmacy. They are ridiculously unorganized. Usually the line is five or six people long and you end up waiting about twenty minutes just to pickup your prescription. The assistant pharmacists aspend too much time joking around and not paying attention to their work. On several occasions they've given us the wrong prescription.

Little Caesars Pizza

The only food I would recommend here is their cheesy bread or breadsticks. Those are delicious. But who goes to a pizza place just for that? Their pizza bread is soggy and the peperroni's aren't crisp. It doesn't have the flavor that superior places like Pizza Hut does. Usually their staff is friendly. Definetly skip this one and go to another pizza place.

Robo Bank Arena

Formerly called Centennial Gardens (which was vastly superior to the current commercial name) this is the main venue for concerts and sporting events in Bakersfield. Its fabulous, because it isn't as big as the one's in LA so everyone gets a good view. I've been to three concerts here and a circus, and things have been great each time. Its usually neat and clean, and the seats are comfortable. The people who sell snacks are nice as well.

Starbucks

I give the company 5 stars, but I had to dock one because of this particular location. On many occasions they have been hasty making the drink and left large lumps of ice in my Frappacino. I can't stand that, its basically a rip off. But their service is usually friendly. They are very neat, and very clean. The atmosphere is rather cramped on busy days. They are also a bit slow, but thats understandable with the amount of customers they get.

Que Pasa Mexican Cafe

Que Pasa is a great place to grab a quick bite after you shop or something. Their food is usually perfect. I usually get their cheese enchilada's, which are delicious, and a Pina Colada w/o alchohol. Their service is usually great and their atmosphere is pretty clean. They also have live mariachi's which is a nice addition. My experience here is always great.

Farmer Boys

This is the new fastaurant in town, comparable to Dennys. It actually isn't a sit down restaurant, as some may expect. They also have a drive through. The food was pretty good, nothing amazing though. The customer service is excellent, I was very impressed in that area. The atmosphere was okay. The experience, overall, wasn't dissapointing.

Sebastian Garage Door & Gates

This store has good customer service. They have a very thorough variety of brands and products of different prices, and that is what I really like about this store. Their prices are fair and comparable to other stores of similarity. The atmosphere is also very neat, organized and easy to work with. Overall I had a positive experience in this store.

Dewar's Candy Shop

Their ice milk is pure heaven and their candy is delicious. Im not crazy about their store. Its not very comfortable, or nice looking. There are usually so many people taking up space at the counter that you can barely give your order. The sales people were sort of friendly. But its all worth it for the good desserts. Their prices are very good and well worth it.

Abercrombie & Fitch

I would give them two stars, accept they have decent clothing sometimes. But their customer service is simply horrendous. I walk in, and this girl just stands there folding jeans and doesn't even acknowledge me or say hello. Nor does she ask if I need anything while Im looking through the denim.

All of the people who work here were obviously hired on looks because most of them have no personality or people skills. And the half naked men standing in the doorway aren't appealing

They have nice clothes once in a while, but some are overpriced. Usually they're pretty neat and clean. It is hard to access some things because of the way the store is set up. There's barely any room to walk.

Oh yeah, they also have a reputation of racism at our store as well as others.

PROS: Decent clothing
CONS: The worst customer service of any chain store

Residence Inn by Marriott Ontario Airport

I like staying at this hotel because they give you a suite. But then again, you get what you pay for. Sure the room is bigger and more comfortable in that sense. But when we visited last winter I wasn't impressed by the room in several areas. The decor and whole look of the room was rather bleak. There was also a bug in the corner of the kitchen, that was disgusting. And the kitchen had this foul, sour smell that I couldn't stand. Also, the TV was pretty small and really old. They also didn't have a seperate bed for me so I had to sleep on the couch.

They provided a free continental breakfast, which was nice. You can't expect much from free, but atleast the food could have been hot. The customer service was good. I wouldn't return.
