There are a lot of hip, high end boutiques popping up in bakersfield. Lolo's is the best one targeted to teens, and of course young adults. They have great brands like Seven Jeans, which are hard to find anywhere else. They also have cute dresses by Betsey Johnson and tons of other designers.
The staff is always very friendly. The owner, the girls who work there and the make up lady have all been helpful and personable each time I've gone in. The atmosphere is also very cool and hip.
Their prices are a bit high, but thats expected for the type of clothing they carry. This is a must visit shop for any fashionista living in Bakersfield.
PROS: Great styles, great clothing
CONS: None, really. It wouldn't hurt if they were bigger!
The moment I walked into this salon I didn't get the slightest professional vibe. There was no receptionist, just a lady eating a sandwich who stared at me as I waited for assistance.
Eventually, I was helped. I had to extract information from them, which was tedious. They didn't seem very eager to get new business. There wasn't much waiting time. None of the stylists were very friendly or personable. They did a decent job on my nails, but they weren't very accomadating or curteous. They also spoke another language to each other, which I consider to be very unpolite. The atmosphere was clean.
The prices were fair. If there wasn't a nail salon on every corner, I would go back to this place. But since there are plenty of places that charge the same and are easier to deal with, there is no way I would return.
PROS: Nice atmosphere. Reasonable prices, and my nails looked so so.
CONS: Unprofessional and unpersonable service.
If you're looking for a good, down to earth salon for ethnic hair treatments, this is the place to visit. The stylists are friendly and its a nice Christian enviroment. The best part about this salon is you never have to wait very long, unlike many salons in department stores. They also have very reasonable prices.
