i originally intended to go to ralph's hair place which is further down the street, but ended up going to winn's. i got ernesto as my hairstylist, and have gone back ever since. the decor is nice, very retro and vintage. the only complaints i have is that they push you to use products in your hair and use a razor to achieve a "choppy" look. very bad for your hair!
PROS: they know hair.
CONS: uses razor, push hair products usage
this place has everything contemporary (well, pretty much). it reminds me of a radio shack if it were ikea-ized. this place has all sorts of utilities that and new and practical; prices are fairly average. go here, i'm telling you.
parking here is terrible. the produce they carry here is generally fresher than your well-known grocery stores. it's always so busy here but the selection is so vast that it's worth the hassle. they also have a 99 frequent buyer card thing that's worth checking out.
kinko's is one quality copy place. they offer a variety of services besides copying, so it's pretty convienient. the people here are pretty friendly, but being hillcrest, parking's always pretty difficult.
nickel city is one of the cooler arcades. the downside is that you have to hop in your car (or hop in someone else's car) and go on the highway, and drive yourself on over to carmel mountain. i guess it'd be worth it if i were more into video games, but it's a not-to-expensive way to spend your free time.
so gap is a victim to using child labor which is completely unacceptable on my standards. the styles they carry are relatively hip, but seem pretty pricey. i do however, love their fragrances...
sure, the campus might not be much to look at, but scripps ranch high school really fosters academics. teachers here care about your education. srhs is a good prep place for college.
this place has got a pretty good selection of stuff: used, vintage, or new. the location is great, because it's along the avenue of shopping in hillcrest.
i like hollister for some of their designs and styles of their clothes, but then again i don't. stuff here isn't cheap, it smells weird here, and workers here are pretty rude. lines go by slowly.
this is another one of your average teenage clothing stores. they appeal to both genders, which is good. their clothing selection is so-so. in addition to clothes, they have odds and ends for sale, like candy. i don't get it.
