This isn't anything like the home superstores we've all become accustomed to. JP Homearama is like the hardware stores from years back. The employees actually know about the items they sell and they can help you find what you're looking for within a matter of seconds. They can give you valuable advice on projects you're planning around the home, including the best supplies to use so your project will turn out as planned. Definitely worh the few extra cents you'll pay in prices for the help and service you'll receive here.
It's great to have a viable alternative to shipping with the USPS. UPS offers quick shipping and at comparative prices. The lines aren't nearly as long at UPS and the service is certainly more friendly. They offer all the supplies you'll need to ship your items and will offer you advice on the best way to get it there in the time needed and at a good price. Definitely a place to consider during the upcoming Christmas mailing season.
You can find a really good variety of plants at Tiny's. They offer a full range of live plants that will add beauty and color to any corner of your home or garden. But for those of us without a greenthumb this place is for us as well. They have hundreds of beautiful silk plants that look stunning. Maybe not as fragrant as the real thing but truly as lovely. Tiny's is a great place to shop for items to brighten up your home during the holidays.
You will find beautiful pieces of clothing at Dusty Rose as well as some lovely accessories to go with the outfits. This is a great place to pick up an outfit for a special occasion or even to just add some basics to your wardrobe. For a small boutique like shop their prices are pretty good and the staff is wonderful. They will tell you honestly if an outfit works for you or not and will help you choose the looks that work best with your body type.
You won't be sorry you purchased a new mattress at Sleepys. In fact you'll wonder why you waited so long and wasted so many restless nights sleeping on your old mattress that you kept trying to convince yourself wasn't in bad shape. While a matress purchase is a big expense, it's definitely worth the investment. The sales staff is great here - they don't try to rush you with your decision and have no problem with your trying out the beds in their showroom. (Try to resist taking a nap though!)
Fido will feel like he's died and gone to doggie heaven if you bring him shopping here. They have more toys and treats than any dog could ever imagine. (Their prices are really good so you won't feel too silly spoiling Fido as much.) The store is very nicely laid out - not too crowded like many of the pet superstores. They have an amazing selection - so many varieties of the various pet foods to choose from. I really like this place!
This is a spectacular place to spend an afternoon with the kids. You will all enjoy yourselves and learn something along the way. There are so many detailed exhibits that you'll want to spend the whole day learning about the American Indian - many things they just don't teach in school. The museum is located in the Bronx - easily reached via subway. Best of all, free admission so you can splurge for lunch afterwards and not feel guilty.
This is truly a swanky NYC hotel. The staff is at your service 24 hours a day. Call downstairs and your wish is their desire! They're located on Manhattan's upper east side - and you'll pay for that fact. The rooms are beautiful - the furnishings are stunning and the bedding is really exquisite. The food is delicious - room service arrives promptly and the servers are very nice but not overbearing. This is a great spot for your second honeymoon - spoil yourselves!!
You won't be sorry you stopped in Olivers Chocolates. Your waistline might be but these candies are so delicious you just won't care. You can even see the chocolate being made on site. There are so many delicious candies to choose from - a full line of dark and milk chocolates. You can also purchase some really nice gift candies as well (use this as the excuse to come here.) The staff is great - who wouldn't be happy working at a candy store???
This place is much more than just a book shop. They sell a full selection of CDs, records, sheet music, books on tape and lots more. Not to mention their selection of books is huge. This certainly isn't your average college book shop. There's something in here for anyone - a great place to expand your music horizons. Ask the staff for ideas - they're really helpful with your selections.
