Went here for a birthday with my girlfriends. It was so nice we just sat outside on the patio and chatted and no one bugged us like a normal bar. It is very classy. The bottles are reasonable if you are there with a group around $30 but can go up to pricier. They have a great selection of red and white wine. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends, but during the week it was fine.
I went here on a date a couple of years ago and recently with friends for a birthday., and both times were good experiences. If you are there as a couple then get about two dishes and split because the portions are pretty big. I recommend the chicken noodles those are my favorite and also they had a special pineapple rice that was very tasty. They also have a lot of spicy dishes and interesting dishes. Be careful of the rotating center that the food is on it knocked my water in my lap. The service is good and you get your food fast. The prices are not bad either between 8-18 depending on the dish.
This is like a soup plantation in fact exaclty like it. They have a huge salad bar and soup sectoin. They also have what i call the carb section with all kinds of breads muffins, and pizza. They also have a pasta sectoin. They have a fruit sectoin and then a frozen yogurt section with yummy toppings. After five they come around with fresh baked cookies. It is a little pricey but you get a lot of food. I like the salads but the rest of the food is pretty bland.
From 9pm-11 drinks are very cheap for a club/bar mixed drinks are like $3 bucks. The dance floor is pretty roomy and if you can get on the VIP list there is a nice lounge area upstairs and a lounge area in the front. The best bar is right when you walk in it is big and has a full selection the other two are just mini bars. The actual dance floor is kinda just plain but the other areas are nicely decorated. Took quite a while to get a drink but still fun. They played pretty good music. People do not dress up too much just nice jeans and shirt. They have an ATM machine by the bathrooms which is convenient.
We took the wildwood trail which was about a five mile hike both ways. It was a nice trail by a stream and cool even in the summer heat. You can drive up to the mansion as well. The grounds were beautiful and the house was amazing on the outside. It was closed on the day we went but I would go back again for the tour. It is nice to sit in the garden and take in the view of the city. Hike or drive both are fun for the day!
This bar seems like it would be a good time, but we went on a Friday night where all you did was get knocked around. Not my favorite activity! Even the servers and bar tenders told you to move every five seconds because it was too crowded. It was a nice atmosphere for singles and they had a lot of drinks but i couldn't even talk or relax in this place, not my favorite.
So my boyfriend's birthday was coming up and he had mentioned he had always wanted to go on the Portland Spirit. It was pricey but the perfect present. I enjoyed the part about getting all dressed up and going on the boat. Ladies there is a steep ramp leading to the boat so do not wear too high of heels. People dress differently some dress up and some down but majority do dress nicely. The age ranges were from 20s-80s so it is a nice mix. You are greated by friendly staff who go into song when you are seated. Then you have a hearty meal and drinks if you would like accompanied by some songs and piano. Then you can wonder around the boat's decks in the moonlight for the remainder of the cruise and enjoy the scenery. It was the most romantic activity I have been on. Highly recomended in the romance department.
PROS: Romance, fun, good time
CONS: High price
I had a a chocolate one from here. It was soooo good. The actual cupcake was so moist and mouth watering and their was an inside filling that was good. The frosting is so creamy and rich. They are very rich cup cakes so you will not need more then one. They also offer mini cup cakes too. They have a variety of flavors. They are a little pricier then your grocery store but soooo worth it!
This restaurant has a great atmosphere. The waiter had an extensive knowledge about wine. We got a bottle with a screw top and it scared me a little but the waiter said wineries are moving toward this because of the cork very interesting. Also they have great foccasia bread you get at first. Then I had the chicken Marsala which was amazing. After I topped it off with a classy dessert wine. I will definitely go again.
The rooms are a good size huge bed, dresser, closet, TV desk and couch. The rooms are very clean. We were able to change from a one night to two night stay easily. They have a gym but the only 3 pieces of equipment. They have a free complementary breakfast that is good. The price range is 120-140. It is close to restaurants and stores. Parking is underneath or to the side of the building.
