Paco's Tacos
Paco's was recommended to me by my husband's cousin, and we went there and loved it. My husband doesn't even like Mexican food, and he liked what he got from there. The prices were very very reasonable. Make's me miss LA!
Toi On Sunset Rockin Thai Food
If you're ever up at 3am with a hankerin' for Thai, go to Toi. The decor is pretty cool, very rock'n'roll, and it's always full of hipsters. The waiters can be very aloof, but the food is really quite good. Overall, fun place to go for the young and hip.
PROS: Very trendy.
CONS: Very trendy.
Daichan
I LOVE Daichan. Good sushi, awesome tempura, various great "bowls", good service. Small place but very cozy, feels authentic (and I've been to Japan a few times). Overall, my favorite Japanese place in LA (not necessarily favorite sushi, but favorite Japanese). Love it.
Old Town
I love Old Town. If I could, I'd go there every day for lunch (specifically, to Casa De Pico). I didn't particularly care for the food at the Old Town Mexican Cafe though. Old Town is great because there is so much history (which is rare in So. Cal!). The shops are a little bit overpriced and touristy sometimes, but overall it's a fun place to spend the day, especially if you have people visiting from out of town, etc.
Pat & Oscar's Restaurants
Not only awesome breadsticks, good pizza, good chicken, ribs, salads (and of course their signature dressing). Fair prices, overall great family restaurant!
