Shasta Lanes
While the prices are pretty low for bowling, the place sort of looks deserted! It's an old building, and not very crowded most of the time. There are not that many lanes in the building, but maybe they don't fill them up on a regular basis. They could bring a little style to the place, too, they are just a building with lanes and bowling balls, and that's about it. It may have changed over the past year or so, but that's how it was for many years.
Raging Waters
This is one of the most fun water parks in the Southern California area. They have rides ranging from fun to scary, a few that are straight up and down, and some that are great for the whole family. As with most theme parks, there are high prices to enter the park, and to eat during your day. There's always a small price to pay! Open in the summer, the southern California area has never been cooler!
Edwards Long Beach Stadium 26
Plush stadium style seating makes you wish the movie never ended! They are very pricey. Their bathrooms are sometimes closed (except for near the entrance) but then you miss a chunk of the movie by walking across the huge building and lobby. Their snacks are entirely overpriced, like most movie theaters, but very tasty and fresh. I didn't particularly like the attitude of some of the employees as they hung out in public places and chattered, refusing to answer questions. The only thing bringing this place up to a 4-star is their super ultra comfortable seating.
Spencer Gifts
Great place for adults to have fun with gift giving gags! They have so many novelties - some in good taste, most are in poor taste - but always funny! There is merchandise in the store that you may not want your kids to find out about, though! It has some pretty raunchy type calendars and things too, but mostly just funny gags, games, and puzzles. You will almost always laugh at something while you are in Spencer Gifts
PROS: Funny Gag Gifts
CONS:
Morey's Music Store Inc
Very nice quality instruments either for rental or sale. They have beautiful violins, clarinets, flutes, guitars, drums, and others. They also do repairs at a fair price, and you can buy an abundance of sheet music. They have all the parts you will need for your new instrument, and can even help locate a teacher in some instances!
PROS: High quality instruments and repairs.
CONS:
Winco Foods
Winco Foods is by far the cheapest grocery store I have even been to in my life!!! They have the absolute BEST prices on beef anywhere I have seen, and it may just be the area. However, the store is an employee owned store, and appears to have very happy employees. They seem very tolerant of stylish appearance in their employees - which creates a level of individuality within the store, not just your typical middle aged women cashiering - they have young and old, the outlandish and the conservatives - all working under one roof to bring us not only the best prices in town, but the best prices I have ever seen!
PROS: Huge Warehouse full of Food - Awesomely low Prices!
CONS:
Fabric Barn
This place has all the supplies you'd hope for in a super store like Fabric Barn. They have such a huge selection, a wide variety of fabrics, accessories, embelishments, edgings, zippers, threads, siscors, and elastics, that each time I go there I end up with so many new and creative ideas hatch just from looking around.
Red Wing Shoe Store
This is the place to go if you are looking for a good pair of steel toe work boots or shoes. Most of their shoes have that "rugged" look, but with very nice style to them. They have a special line of "work boots" that are extremely durable, and have a strong toe or steel toe, depending on your needs. They are an ever famous work boot brand, and with their very own store so that they can cater to you and your needs.
PROS: Very sturdy work boots.
CONS:
Tres Hermanos
This is a great little western store, they have a pretty good selection of clothing and accessories, and fairly good prices too. They have authentic clothing as well as a few odds & ends, and the ever famous bolo tie. The people are nice and helpful, but not overbearing salespeople. You can definitely put together a few nice outfits from this western store!
Super Yarn Mart
With hand crochet and knitting becoming a thing of the past, there are not as many stores supplying yarn is great quanities like they used to. This store is such a great store for yarn shopping, they have many textures and colors, many different dye lots to choose from, big skeins, small ones, balls of yarn, needlepoint thread, and more. All prices are fairly low, and they are a store that has been around for years. I hope for many more, as there are fewer and fewer places to find the vast selection that is found here!
PROS: Huge quanities of yarn for all purposes!
