Cherrydale Hardware Store is a great neighborhood place. You get fantastic one-on-one service and they have anything you can think of needing. They are do helpful and courteous and the prices are just as good as the huge chains. The customer service makes all the difference in the world. Their key making service is great!
G Street Fabrics, which is located in the Seven Corners Plaza, on the side closest to Route 50, is a shop with LOTS of fabric. To make your visit a success, you really need to know what you are doing. My wife got some remnants, last year, to cover some chair cushiions and spent a lot of time looking. I will tell you that the staff was very nice, when she needed to exchance that fabric, which wasn't exactly the right color. She realized the color was not right when she got home and took it back the next day. They took it without a problem and she was able to find what we needed.
My family and I have stayed at the Village Inn on several occasions. We have found this motel to be clean and the staff to be nice. The rooms have small fridges and they do allow pets. There is a pool on the site, but we have never been there when it was open. The restaurant has great meals and includes a continental breakfast with your stay.
I recently visited this urgent care when I was very sick. It was the weekend and I could not get in to see my doctor. The staff was friendly and seemed competent. My wait was very long (several hours). I was sick and really could have done without a long wait. It really did not seem like there were many people in the waiting area, but my wait was still very long.
Ultrazone drove me crazy. It is very loud and there is not place to sit while you are waiting for your child to play laser tag. If you don't want to play there is really not much for an adult to do. Also, the video games will make you run completely out of money, as that is all there is for the kids to do when they are waiting for their turn. However, the kids said it was great fun.
The Intercourse Canning Company is a great stop if you are in Intercourse, PA, which is located near Lancaster, PA. They have a great variety of canned goods for sample and purchase and if the weather is not too hot, you can observe the staff canning items in the factory behind the store. This store will ship items your purchase for gifts to the person to whom you would like to send them.
We used Eds Buggys to tour the Amish countryside. Our tour guide was an older Amish gentleman who gave us a great tour and explanation about what we were viewing. He even let our son take the reins for a while. The trip we went on was a shorter version of the tour. They do offer a longer version that includes a trip to a working Amish farm. We arrived too late in the day for the longer tour, so I'd suggest calling ahead if you are interested in the tour of the farm.
The Bird In Hand Farmers Market, near Lancaster, PA, is a favorite stop on a Saturday morning. The market has baked goods, canned goods, crafts, cheeses, fudge and more. It is worth a trip and is very family oriented. There is a huge parking lot near it. We never go to the Lancaster area without making a trip to this market. They offer many free samples, so go hungry!
The Eagle Falls Adventure Park is a favorite stop when we visit the Lancaster area. We especially love the waterpark. It contains to large waterslides and one kiddie waterslide. We absolutely love it so much, that we have never made the time to play mini-golf or ride the go-karts. The prices are very reasonable.
We have enjoyed visiting the Dutch Apple Theatre on our many trips to the Lancaster area. We have see Nunsense II and The King and I. The lunch/dinner buffet is wonderful and the shows are always a pleasure. The theatre is clean and comfortable and there is plenty of parking in their lot. Call ahead for tickets, as they sometimes get big tour groups that can limit your choices.
