Banfield Pet Hospital
Great place to go when you need pet supplies. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their dog grooming is very high quality and reasonably priced. Even the price of shots here is a fair price. Plus you can bring your dog into shop and pick them up a special treat. My dog always likes to go for a ride and this is a fun place to go...
Sleeping Dragon Games
This store has a pretty good inventory even though it is rather small. The staff is very helpful and they are always willing to offer help and suggestions on what is new, what is not really worth the money and what is a must have for gamers. They have actually talked me out of a sale because they said something better was due out soon. Not many stores will do that.
Gamers Paradise
If you are looking for the newest games, this store always seems to have it in stock. While they may not be a discount store, you do not have to pre order something in order to find it. The staff here is very knowledgeable about the newest games and can really help a p[arent out in finding something age appropriate.
Express
Express and Express for Men (the old Structure) at Orland Mall always has a large selection of the latest fashions. The staff there is always very helpful and they have really wonderful end of season sales, so if you are looking for a very nice sweater for the following fall adn willing to buy it in February, this is a great plave to shop, you can get a $50-$70 sweater for $5-$15 and something that will not be outdated the following year.
Shoe Carnival
I was very disappointed in the customer service provided at this store location. i went here due to a television ad that they had running which I felt was very misleading. When I found out that the special was not being honored at this location (which I was treated rudely by the staff when they told me) but at another store only. I emailed the home office and they appologized, said they would have the manager of the store contact me by phone and have him send me a gift card in the mail. I never heard from the store manager. I would never go back here again.
Family Care Center
This urgent aid/care facility is wonderful. It has a very knowledgeable and compassionate staff like you would expect at any hospital emeergency room and facilities to do all the test that would be required at any Er but because it is a stand alone facility it does not usually have the asame long extensive wait times that a typical ER would have. So if you only need stitches or other urgent but not life threatening care, this is a wonderful local alternative to a regular ER
Speedway
With the way that gas prices keep soaring, it is really nice to have a station that you can count on for having some of the cheapest prices around. They are usually the lowest priced station in the area. The only draw back is that it is a smaller older station so often the pumps are full and there is a line of cars waiting to fill up.
Leona's Restaurant
I was a little disappointed in this place. The menu is a lot of fun to read. It really is the high light of the dining experience. It was sad that a company that took that much care in the design of the menu did not spend a little more attention on the food itself. The food was good, but not great. The selection of items is large and as I have said the menu is a good read.
Firehouse Hot Dogs
It may be called Firehouse Hot Dogs, and if you are just getting off the train or waiting for the train in Midlothian then this is a quick place for a good hotdog, but it really is the best place for takeout broasted chicken. My suggestion is to call ahead (otherwise you usually have a bit of a wait for your order) so your order is ready and waiting, The location is awful, immediately after the train tracks and if a train has just come you have to wait in order to pull into the parking area, but the chicken is worth the hassle.
American Girl
If you can afford it, this is little girl heaven. This store is just incredible and has everything you can imagine for the American Girl line. They have the dolls, furniture, books, doll clothes, kid clothes (for the Mommy/Doll matching outfit look) and a place to eat, have a birthday party, etc. It is very expensive, but they do have sale items and for those special occassions and special Mother/Daughter bonding times, this havs got to be one of the top places in Chicago.
