Studio 55
A friend and I went in yesterday to get our hair cut with Curtis. While I left to run a quick errand - twenty minutes or less - he started on my friend. By the time I got back, she was trimmed and layered, and drying.
Curtis was very quick, and very talkative - in a good way. It is fun to be in his chair. I felt like he really knew what he was doing, and has a lot of experience under his belt.
I'll be going back today for color - we'll see how it goes!
Rock Island Wraps & Coffee
Rock Island definitely has good wraps, which is a great healty alternative, espeically if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. For me, though, a dining experience isn't whole without good, or at least decent, customer service.
When I came in, there was not so much as a nod from the attendant at the cash register. Once we ordered and sat down to wait for our food, the employee who made our wraps was rude.
I may go again for a good wrap, but at least now I know not to expect anything as far as customer service goes.
Dreyers Grand Ice Cream Parlor
This Ice Cream Parlor, in the Tracy West Valley Mall, is great because of its ice cream, but also because of its location. They are the perfect stop to make before going to the nail place in the mall to get a pedicure.
Ice cream and pretty toes... who could ask for more?
The Picture People
The Picture People in Tracy is a nice place to have family portaits done. They have a fine selection of simple backgrounds, and props if you so desire. They are not cheap, but not expesive. You can look at your pictures in one hour, which is nice because if you need to re-do any of the shots, you will know that day.
Sally Beauty
Sally Beauty Supply sounds like it would have a lot of good Beauty Supply products. I have found that they have a wide variety of items, but a lot of them are just not quality items. If you are in the market for a new appliance, go to Target and get a hairdryer or curling iron. If you need a new beauty product, go to a retailer you can trust.
Party's 4 You
Partys 4 You is a praty store that always seems a little behind the times. They don't have a very current selection, nor do they have helpful employees.
If I needed party supplies, I would go to Target or another store before I headed here.
Caroline Photography Inc
Caroline's was an all around great photo experience. My daughter had her senior pictures done here. The backgrounds were beautiful, and the picture quality was great.
They are a little on the expensive sound, but it was so worth it to have those memories captured for her, and for us.
STAPLES
Staples is heaven for organization nerds or lovers of stationery and pens... Man I love this place. They have a huge selection of anything related to office or school work. Sit at a desk, look all around the desk. Anything you see and might want to buy more of, or another type of, you will find here.
The downside? They are pretty expensive. Sometimes it just sucks to drop six dollars on fun pens, but if you are addicted, that's how you do.
Visual Productions Photography
I had my passport photos taken here. They man who took my picture told me that you are not allowed to smile: a safety precaution since 9/11... I think he may have been a bit crazy. So my passport photo looks very angry, but it is good quality, and was fast and inexpensive. My friend took beautiful senior potraits through this company. They also have many portraits in their studio that you can look at, which I think is very helpful. I would definitely recommend them, just let that man know that you CAN smile on your passport photo. :)
Prestige Portraits
Prestige Portraits did our entire senior class' yearbook photo. I did not end up purchasing any of these for my own use, as they did not have any outdoor sittings that I liked. I did see friend's senior photos from Prestige that were very nice. I would recommend tryig Prestige if you don't mind taking all of your senior pictures indoors, with props and such. If you are looking for foilage, I would recommend looking around.
