Days Inn By Wyndham Vega TX
I've stayed here twice on recent cross-country trips from Texas to California. This hotel is relatively new so you get a lot for your money (unusually nice, clean rooms for an affordable inn).

We got a nice room for a great price. This location proved perfect for a layover on our visit to Hearst Castle. The kids got a real kick out of the indoor pool.
Mackey John K Md
Chef JoAnna regularly provided fantastic meals and desserts for all of our company events. She also provided our office with custom lunches pre-ordered each week by employee. She's a real pro who takes food seriously and uses only the best ingredients.
Mb Financial Bank
I made the mistake of choosing this bank because it was "down the street from me". After some time I switched to another larger chain, multi-location bank. Aside from basically unpleasant customer service, the last straw came when I went to a teller window and requested $10 in quarters (for laundry). The teller broke the news to me that "We're out of quarters right now". Yes. The bank was out of quarters.
101 Collision
M-2 retored my car to good as new after it was severely damaged. They handled my case in a calm, professional, and highly efficient manner. Their top quality customer service helps make an otherwise stressful experience less so.
Blue Chicago
I discovered my love of the blues on my first trip to Blue Chicago and many more visits followed. Among the many great things to do in Chicago, this should be on your list. Blue Chicago is not the trendiest or most "underground" place to listen to some blues, but it's an easy introduction. The female singers on any night are incredible!
West End Marketplace
The West End Marketplace is a worthwhile night out for locals or visitors. We definitely make this a stop on the DFW tour whenever we have family in town on vacation. Lots of unusual shops that are at the very least fun to browse through.
Pavlov's Dogs Comedy
This group presents improvised comedy shows regularly in the Dallas area and they are hilarious. I had seen them a few times at their regular West End Marketplace shows, and hired them to perform at a private company party last year. They gave a great performance and really helped make our event a hit with our staff.
Casa Manana Inc
This theatre in the round produces modest, but professional productions of children's theatre and musicals. The work is doesn't approach the quality of Broadway musicals that tour through town, but the work is always good and occasionally great.
Carmel Mission Basilica & Msm
This historic mission, founded in 1771, is a very worthwhile hour-long visit on any trip through the Monterrey/Carmel area. The architecture and grounds are beautiful and the small musuem inside gives visitors a glimpse into life in 18th century California. At $4, this is a must.
