After the long road to Hana, be sure to stop here and stock up with snacks, water etc. for the 3 hour trip back to Maui's west side. You'll pay extra for the convenience, of course.
Unless you're a true architecture buff, this is probably the Chicago River crusieline for you. Wendella is less expensive than the popular "Architecture" cruise AND it gets you out on Lake Michigan for a truly spectacular view and photo-op of the Chicago skyline.
We took the 3 day cruise out of Long Beach as a weekend escape from our hectic L.A. lives. Everything about the ship was nice and the service was excellent. The shorter cruises are of less value (the 7-day crusise comes out to less per day). The only downside is the one port of call was Ensenada, Mexico, which my wife and I renamed "Glendale-on-the-Water".
Almost every family party, dinner or gathering for years has included someone picking up an assortment of Cuban pastries, other Cuban food standards or incredible cakes from La Suiza. Delicious! It's practically part of the family. They do small to-go serving sizes as well as huge quantities for large parties.
In general, I thought of Tower as being a high-priced place to buy CDs because you can often find better deals at the big chain electronics stores, but I gave Tower a chance recently and discovered they have heavily discount the newest hottest releases. This Pasadena location is tucked away up the stairs behind the Good Guys electronics on lake.
This place rocks. An enormous selection of wine and other beverages. Sam's carries cheap to super expensive. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. Take advantage of the numerous wine tastings going on at the store.
If you're visiting Chicago and staying downtown in the Loop this location is perfect to take advantage of Men's Warehouse free suitpress when you find yourself on a business or other trip and your suit need a touch up.They also have a great selection of shirts, ties etc.
Come here with low expectations and have a decent time. This isn't the place for any sophisticated satire or sketch that Chicago's brilliant Second City might offer. This is low-brow, low-effort, easy comedy. There are better, less-established comedy troupes in town.
We often come to Bird Bowl in a big group that includes kids and adults. The waits for lanes are often minimal and overall it's a very affordable group or family outing.
Jamba Juice is a regular part of my diet and routine and thankfully they have multiple locations Pasadena. I will avoid this one after a recent experience. The crew of 4 somehow allowed themselves to completely run out of clean pitchers. This would be forgivable if it wasn't for the casual way (gossiping, joking, working at a leisurly pace) they proceeded to wash all of them while 10 people waited for their 'juice'.
