This lovely Armenian Bakery has some of the tastiest treats I've ever found - I love to drop in here when headed to a dinner party - their desserts always wow my hostess... little petite cakes, cookies, pastries - i especially love the apricot pastry - it comes in a large size so you can cut and serve many - they're baklava is also VERY good! Parking is a bit tight if they are busy - but the array of ethnic treats is worth it.
This is the classiest - most gorgeous thai restaurant i've ever been to - the prices are about 2$ more per dish - but worth every penny - thier dinnerware, glasses, serving ware - everything is just oh so nice! the food is the best - i bring my girlfriends here for a nice dinner before we hit a movie or a bar... don't pass up the mango and sticky rice - it's awesome!
PROS: beautiful and delicious
Oh man it's true - this shrimp is killer - killer tasty - killer spicy and killer addictive. You can have shrimp with rice or bread and they offer for 1$ more to peel it for you - worth it! the shrimp is amazing and the spicy soup that it floats in is even better - go straight for the bread basket and dip the bread in the spicy soup - and to hell with the carbs - cause it tastes so good!
PROS: great spicy shrimp
CONS: if you don't like shrimp - this is not your place - that's all they offer.
So everyone recognizes the Big Boy out front of the restaurant - it's a must do destination in LA - we always take friends and family here when they are visiting LA for the first time - the burgers are great - love the onion rings - and you can even get take out - beats the heck out of other late night drive thru options! I have thier number in my cell phone for just such an occasion. Also, very kid friendly place.
PROS: great burgers
Really Good Thai - I don't know that i would say it is amazing as their name sugests - but we liked it and have been back numerous times. they open late on sundays - 4pm - we walked there once for lunch only to find they were closed - so just know they are only open for 1/2 day on sunday - dinner that is. Good pad thai and spicy noodles.
PROS: good food, good price
CONS: tiny restaurant
If you've never had Henry's taco's then you are missing a staple of the Valley - very few options on the menu - but really you come here for the tacos and maybe a chalupa - you eat at picnic tables out front or take your bag of goodies home with you. I know many a person who lives on the west side and drives over the hill just to get one of Henry's tacos!
PROS: great tacos
CONS: not much parking
City Wok is awesome - they cook with a gormet flair and use no MSG and will use white meat upon request - we love the orange chicken - they have a very healthy menu - dine in is great - take out is good - but delivery can take a while... they are very popular.
PROS: great food
This restaurant has the loveliest decor and atmosphere - we went for a birhday dinner - the food was really good - a bit pricy - but they accomodated our large party at an equally large table and the night was just fantastic. We will definitley go back and try the outdoor seating on the patio - that looks beautiful - for dinner on a cool california night.
PROS: beautiful - good food
I'm always up for trying a new dayspa and when my girlfriend introduced me to this little gem - i quickly added it to my list of favorites. Great massage and facial - loved the products they used - loved the aromatherapy and loved the atmosphere. This is quite simply, a wonderful day spa.
This Salon houses many stylist - i think each one pays for thier own booth and service thier own client - each stylist really puts thier own stamp of style on thier space - my stylist - Vito Trotta - is amazing - he does great cuts and even better color - highlights and low lights - he works in the tv and movie industry so he always has great stories to tell - and you just might see someone famous coming out of the chair when you arrive for your appointment.
PROS: cool space - individual stylists
