Salon Tonic
Salon Tonic is a very sophisticated and trendy salon in downtown San Diego, right around Little Italy. They have good stylist, and offer good services. They also serve beverages such as tea and coffee, but also wine and beer, which I was not used to. You have to pay to park in the metered parking around here. The only complaint I have is that this Salon is quite expensive. I only had my bags trimmed here after a mishap, so it wasn't awful for me, but if you need cut and color, I would think twice unless your hair is your life.
Old Navy
This Old Navy is in a great location... right next to Borders, a huge two story Target, and there's always Coffee Bean for a caffeine fix if you need it. This is a huge store, with one of the best selections for college aged students especially. They havea huge parking lot, but is often full. so you won't get the perfect spot, but you will find one eventually.
Apogee Body Piercing
Dr. Jefe's is a quality place for piercing. I had a piercing done here, and was very pleased with it. They were good with explaining the after care, and I never had any problems. The only downer? Their jewelry is very expensive, so it might be deceifing... the piercing price seems reasonable, until you pick a decent piece of jewelry and it jacks the price up.
The Electric Chair
If the name scares you, you probably shouldn't go here. The Electric Chair is located in OB, and if you aren't familiar with OB and its atmosphere, you should go and check it out before you make an appointment.
The Electric Chair is very trendy and has a lot of sass. If you want to play with your hair, try a new style, or you're bored, I would definitely recommend The Electric Chair for a new style.
If tattoos or piercings scare you or make you uncomfortable, this also may not be the place for you, but you could ask for Trisha. I saw her once, and she still has the "Electric Chair" sass, but is a bit more mellow. I would highly recommend her!

Blick Art Materials
I could get lost in this world of love. It is amazing. They have very art supply you could want... every size and color of every thing. Also a GREAT place for just getting a picture album or frame. You can also get great unique gifts. They carry a catalog for anything they may be able to order that they don't have in store... which can't be much. They also have great sales, and are located in the best place to take a walk and get some gelato. mmmm....
LensCrafters Optique
I went to Pearle for an eye exam, and to get contacts prescribed. The optometrist and the people who sell contacts or glasses are separate businesses, which is a litle confusing. if you went for an eye exam and then bought glasses or contacts, it would be two separate transactions.
The optometrist did help me save money, and was efficient.
Sid's Auto Body Inc
I took my car to Sid's auto boday after a friend backed into me and damaged my front end. Since he was a friend, and I didn't want him to spend an arm and a leg, I shopped around, and Sid's had the best prices. I was satisfied with their work, and my car was in and out in a timely manner. They left mints for me and my car was sparkling clean... what more could you ask for?
Joe's Auto Repair
After I had previously taken my car to another shop, it broke down again, and I took it to Joe. Being a broke college student, good service and reasonable prices are a must. Joe will take care of you, and he doesn't overcharge. He keeps and shows you any pieces or parts that he takes out of your car. It is a small business, so it is sometimes busy. I recommended that a friend take her car there, and she was also satisfied with their work.
