My husband and I went to this church when living in Ohio. It is a wonderful, solid, Bible believing church that you instantly become like family. Although the church is full of families, you can instantly get involved if you are a single, teen or widow. The pastor is well educated, interesting, and as nice as can be. The childrens program is also excellent. This is not a mega church but they do sing praise songs and do quality worship on Sunday mornings.
This store has overpriced but unique gift items in addition to being a frame shop. I found that the framing jobs are very nice but not what is requested. Make sure you get everything in writing before you gift them any money. I find that Total Crafts does a comparable job.
I went to this urgent care and had an awful experience. I appeared to be the only one in the waiting room with any type of emergency and later found out that it is also an occupational health building. All the people who were just sick (not emergencies) were seen before me. I waited over 1 hour to be seen. I then sat in a waiting room that was freezing and was told to put on a childs sized gown. The nurse was very unprofessional and the doctor didnt know much and had to send me to the ER at the hospital (which later ended up being a stomach virus!) Just because they are INOVA does NOT mean that they are part of the Inova Fairfax Hospital. This is important to know because you will pay two copays if you get sent to the hospital. Overall a waste of time and will go straight to the ER next time. I also tried to get a receipt when I left and was told that they dont do computerized receipt. The receptionist hand wrote a receipt for me. Unbelievable!
I had my first baby here and was petrified with what to expect. I had heard horror stories about it and was prepared for the worst. I had the best experience. My nurses were all wonderful and I probably had 12 over the course of my stay. I also had a very clean room. The food was horrible and my husband had to pay for parking! I have also visited the emergency room and had a horrible experience there waiting. If you have an emergency, drive to Fair Oaks Hospital. You get in and out quicker.
PROS: great nurses, clean rooms
CONS: pay for parking, food
This is a charming ice cream and candy shop located in a really beautiful sail boating town. The ice cream is excellent and dont be afraid to ask for samples. If I were traveling through the area, I would definitely go out of the way to stop at Maggies. A lot of local kids hang out here and work here.
My family and I have gone here for years and although we see the same thing every summer, it is still fun. The museum is definitely not a Smithsonian because it is more of a research institute with students in it. You feel like you are in the actual laboratories except for the beginning. The beginning of the museum feels like an old aquarium. But, you can handle many of the ocean animals and there are seals out in front that get fed about twice a day. You couldnt spend more than an hour here so plan on doing something else in Woods Hole.
This is by the far the best hospital gift shop in American. I went to visit a friend who just had a baby and stopped by the gift shop. The quality and selection of baby gifts was out of this world. It wasnt old lady knit sweaters; it was cute and trendy merchandise. Definitely worth a quick peek if you are at the hospital.
I live from out of town and this has got to be the best orchard going. They have a little gift shop and next door, they have a little snack house that makes doughnuts and hot apple cider in the fall. We have a friend who has her mom ship her cider to California from them just so she can taste a little bit of Michigan.
PROS: Apple Cider and Doughnuts
CONS: crowds on weekends
Bean and Cod is a very nice store that has been around in Falmouth for a while. It is full of gourmet spreads, beautiful linens and food items. The food that they sell is snacky or appetizer like food which includes cheeses and crackers and cookies. They also sell April Cornell linens. This store is much more packed with things than a Williams Sonoma and has very unique kitchen items that are great as gifts.
Homespun Garden is a little gift shop that has been around for about three years. Every summer I visit this little shop and buy gifts for friends, things for my house and jewelry. The ambiance in the store is really beautiful and whimsical. The employees will wrap gifts for you and have great ideas of ways to use things in the store. The owners are local which is very nice to see.
PROS: beautiful items
