This is almost a one-stop shopping for us on a weekend; gas up, buy my newspaper, fresh coffees and baked cinnabuns for my husband. The gas prices are great for the area and the rest of the store is, well convenience store prices! The made to order sandwiches are great too, a lunch in a hurry or a picnic stop.
Folks there are friendly, they do always seem to be training new people but that seems to be many places these days :)
This is a great place to save money, especially if you do not need to buy your favorite brand. For example, if you only use Tide, you wont be excited by the low low price of All or Gain. It is hit or miss, you could see tons of dog food one day and no cereal; then you stop the next week and they have two aisles of cereal and no dog food :)
If you see it and you need it, stock up.. theprices allow this! Just watch the dates on the items, many items are expired or soon to expire. The staff are okay, not as judgemental as the Leola Sharp Shopper.
I truly like this Giant store, it is clean and the folks are friendly and helpful. My only note is that their sale items are often out of stock. They will willingly give a raincheck, but I shop w.coupons that might expire before the item is back on the shelf touse the raincheck.
Also, their produce is high priced, if you get to Leola you are much better off buying produce from a local farm= better quality and price
The prices cannot be beat if you can find non-expired items on the shelves.... most of the values are found on out dated or soon to expire. The store is honestly not never organized, for example, canned fruit is not in one aisle, it is spread throughout the store.
We often feel that the service is best if you are of the same religion as the owners... we are not, which is evident because I am a female who cuts her hair and wears pants. On two occassions, I have been served after someone else who appeared to be of their religion, so don't shop here if you need to be pampered or catered to in order to feel like it was a fun trip.
This rental service is terrible. We rented a 24 foot truck and they made an error to give us a 15 foot truck. We ended up having to make two trips, and this was a 3 hour trip each time! To make matter worse, we have been fighting for our $100.00 deposit for several weeks, ugh
Save yourself a headache if you need a truck rental and try someone else!
We recently sold a home in Maryland and purchased a different home in Lancaster County. We had the best service ever, with our agents Keith and Bev Sensenig... they are an awesome team and their main concern was finding us the right home. Gateway Realty is lucky to have these agents!
We enjoy this restaurant, now called Leola Restaurant. The food is what we would cook at home but it is nice to have someone bring it to you once in a while! I usually have enough to take home for a leftovers lunch but my husband can eat his portion and dessert. The prices are reasonable and the place is always clean.
we recently moved to the Leola area and were "desperate" for some quick help due to a water leak. My husband sent ME with a broken plumbing piece... but the clerk new what I needed immediately! What a relief to have knowledgeable and helpful clerks. We will always check Bard's before anotherstore now. Price was not too bad either
