i can't think of a better rainy (or sunny) day activity than a trip to the Children's Museum. Finally, a place you can take your kids where not once do you have to say "don't touch that!". From playing with water toys to face painting, clay, and making as much noise as possible, the Children's Museum has got to be one of the most fun playlands. Not only are your kids having fun, but feel free to roll around with them, and have a little fun yourself! or you can relax and watch them pretend to grocery shop, express themselves artistically, or dress up and be a star!
PROS: everything is recycled, fun, clean, and healthy
CONS: all your kids want to go in different directions.
Everyone needs a day at the spa to relax, unwind, and beautify. At La Belle Vie, you truly are living the beautiful life. You can make an appointment, or just walk in (wait time is usually short) for a pedicure, manicure, or body art. Although they do not offer massages like other spas, most likely due to their convenient location, who needs one, when you have awesome massage chairs to sit in while your feet receive royal treatment!. If you haven't been spoiled enough, being in the center of the largest mall in the Portland area is certainly tempting to splurge even more!
PROS: great service, great prices, great atmosphere, convenient location
CONS: you aren't there right now!
Marrakesh is an authentic moroccan restaurant, right down to the heavy velvet drapes on the windows, and the staff uniforms. As you sit on clever cushions or pillows around a small table, if you are not entertained by the staff's talent in serving your food and drinks, and sprinkling your fingers with rosewater, you are sure to be impressed with the weekend talents of the beautiful belly dancers! As if this weren't enough, the food is delicious, and the wine quite tasty, as well as thoroughly authentic. From the moment you step in the door, it's as if you have been transported to another world!
PROS: Terrific ambiance, great staff, beautiful decor, open 7 days a week
CONS: a little on the pricy side, kind of stuffy, only open for dinner
