Soul 2
Initially, we were excited about the Southern Cajun Cuisine and the coupon that we had to dine here. The dining coupon we had was from a nationally reputable organization that Soul 2 Soul Bistro affiliates with. The certificate had certain rules (such as bill total must be over $35, only to be used Sun-Thurs, valid on dine in only, etc.) as most of them do. So, we ensured that we met the conditions of the rules.
Upon our arrival, we presented our $25 dining certificate to our waitress. She said for us just to give it to her when we were finished with our meal. We enjoyed our lunch, 2 full meals, an appetizer, soft drinks, and a childs meal. Our bill total was about $42.00.
Again, we gave our waitress our dining certificate and a credit card to pay for the remainder of the bill. She needed assistance entering the certificate in the computer, so the manger (owner) assisted her. While doing this, he felt that all the rules were not met so he would not redeem the certificate. We saw him explaining his reasoning to the waitress, and cowardly he went to hide in the back. So, she came over to us and explained that HE did not feel that we had two entrees and therefore, he wouldnt accept the certificate. She was very puzzled as to his reasoning why we were also. So, we asked to speak to him directly. He was hesitant to come over and speak to us, but he finally did (weve now been there for over an hour). Nowhere in the menu does it state specifically entrees. He explained that entrees are typically the catfish and other seafood items, which we didnt know nor did anyone tell us as while we were ordering when our waitress knew that we were planning on using our dining certificate. Also, the menu was a sheet of paper, it was not a regular professional menu which we had trouble reading in the first place.
The behavior demonstrated throughout this ordeal was sneaky and dishonest. We paid the $42, but we felt that he took advantage of our patronage
PROS:
CONS: He must have needed the $25 desperately to be so deceitful with a play on w
Silver Diner
Besides the fact that the prices are reasonable, and the food is yummy.... the atmosphere is really fun. You can bring quarters to put in the jukebox and play your favorite oldies... we love to go there... we each get a certain number of quarters to divide up and share... and there's a great variety of food... and of course, breakfast is served all day :)
Jason's Deli
We ordered here for a luncheon for about 15 people, never having eaten here but we were in a rush to find someplace fast... and it was so great! I am really glad that we found this place.
The sandwiches were freshly made... sometimes when you order a larger amount, all the cold cuts can taste the same, but not here! Everything tasted delicous and was nice and fresh. We would definitely recommend, especially catering for a work function or an at home party.
La Quinta Inn Provo Town Center
This place was clean and very professional. The upside to this hotel is that there is a resturant right inside, so you don't have to go far... and there's a huge mall right behind it... and you can pop on and off the highway quite easily.
Downside, good complimentary breakfast... but when my brother came in the morning (he's at BYU, staying in the dorm) he got something small for breakfast, and the hotel attendant had a fit about it. I guess because he wasn't technically a guest. I thought it was ridiculous, but I gave them $5 for it... but I won't stay there anymore, just for that incident.
Jamba Juice
This place got me through my pregnancy. Unfortunately, I was prone to getting sick... it was the winter, and I felt like every other week I was getting a cold! And of course the only thing my doctor allowed me to take, did absolutely nothing...
I would regularly get the coldbuster with a boost of fiber or energy or whatever I felt I needed... and it always lifted my spirits and made me feel better.
Clarion Inn
This place was great, and we will definitely stay here the next time we visit! Clean, neat, inexpensive, indoor pool, and complimentary breakfast... with a Krispy Kreme right next door, so guess what was for breakfast? Good stuff...
It is convinent to the highway and BYU, and there's Super Wal-Mart right next door... perfect, especially when you have a baby and forgot or used up some things!
Ramada By Wyndham Draper
We stayed here, because it was convinent, inexpensive, and close to where we needed to be. It is right off I-15, so you can pop on the highway easily and get whereever.
It was fairly clean and the people working there were friendly... if you want a 5 star hotel, this isn't it. But if you are looking at location and cost, this is it!
Jillian's
We went during lunch time, and it appeared that after we showed our dining certificate, our service went down the drain.
Looking at other tables that came in after us, we were way behind. Everyone else's drinks were getting promptly refilled, but not ours. It took FOREVER for us to get our appetizer. Two families that came in after us, got their meals and were half way done before we got our appetizer and first refills! Then when we got our appetizer, it took another 7-8 minutes for the waitress to bring small plates for us to eat on.
When we finally got our meal, it was wrong. I ordered a garden salad with shrimp, my husband fetticine alfredo. They ended up putting the shrimp on the pasta, and splitting the pasta on 2 plates. ???? My salad was no where.
She brought it out, knowing it was wrong, hoping we'd take it anyway. We said it was unsatisfactory and we wanted our ordering. She messed up another table about 15 minutes prior, but he took it... so I guess she was hopeful. When we got our correct meals, my salad (for $9) was about as big as a side salad with 6 tiny little uncooked (I asked for grilled) shrimp. My bread was hard. But by this time, I was so tired of being there, I didn't care... I just wanted to leave.
She also got our check wrong, but by that time... I just wanted to leave. I was really upset because it was my husband's birthday... and I really thought this place would be lots of fun because he loves sports and games and all that. But it was miserable.
Auntie Annes
I am definitely a fan of Auntie Ann's pretzels. However, this specific location has the freshest pretzels ALL THE TIME! I really prefer this location because of the friendly staff and the yummy food! :)
oh, and the lemonade is to die for!!!
Amy Kearl's Kuts and Kolors
She is the only person I trust with my hair. She listens to what I say when I want my hair cut or colored... and she does what I want. Which I think is a big problem now. Lots of stylists do what they think will look good, given their taste, but she listens to what I have to say, and she does it perfect every time!
She is also the only person I will ever let color or do highlights on my hair. (I now live 600 miles away, and I still go up there for her to color my hair)
