Red Vic Movie House
The Red Vic is a unique and fun worker-owned cinema. It has sofas so you can cuddle up to your friends, you get your tea or soda in a real cup or glass and your popcorn in a bowl, AND they have a request list so you can (hopefully) see a movie you've been dying to see for ages. Good stuff.
Balboa Theatre
I love this independent theatre for so many reasons. Not only do you get 2 movies for one low price but the seats are actually comfortable enough to keep you in there for 2 showings! Really, this is the only theatre that doesn't make my butt numb!
Freewheel Bike Shop
Freewheel is my favorite place in town for bike maintenance. For a small fee you can join and use their extensive equipment to fix your bike yourself or leave it up to the friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great rates and they also have bikes and accessories for sale at reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
Amoeba Music
Amoeba has it all. It's entirely possible to spend hundreds of dollars in minutes or to spend hours browsing their huge selection. Great deals, collectors items, live bands/djs, dvds and videos, an excellent used section and new listening booths where you can listen your potential picks all make this SF institution the tops.
