Illinois Institute-Art-Chicago
This is a world class art museum. It is best appreciated as a local. I find that it works best to see small parts of the museum in chunks. It allows you to really appreciate what you've seen.
Navy Pier
Expensive restaurants and nick nack shops are the staple of any tourist attraction. This is no different. However, once you swallow that pill, you are left with some graet views of the lake and the city amidst some decent dining options. Check it out during the holidays and on fireworks nights. Its lots of fun.
Field Museum
This museum provides a great and entertaining forum to learn about history. There are dinosaur bones and other artifacts from history. Additionally it is right by the lake and Soldier Field, Home of the Chicago Bears.
Happy Foods Inc
This grocery store may not have the best of produce, but it has a remarkably good selection given the space. They have a full service deli and good hours. We go there to pick up this and that in between larger shopping trips.
Cost Plus World Market
This is a great place to buy wines. There usually is someone assigned to assist patrons in their wine department. They also have several lower end furniture and lots of interior design accents.
Hotel Sax
This is a great city hotel. The strength comes in with it's proximity to the House of Blues. It's especially fun to tie your hotel stay with a show at the House of Blues. However, aside from being in a cool area in Chicago, it is right above a cool bowling alley. Additionally, there is a cool jazz bar right in the lobby that is worth chillin out at.
Pep Boys
The store has good service, however, if you want work done on your car, there can be a long wait. This may be due to it's popularity. The people are knowledgable and help when you are shopping. They also are helpful when you want to have your car serviced. The only problem is that if you have quick work you want done on your car, you might want to bring it to a local shop and avoid the long wait.
Ravinia Festivals
This outdoor concert hall will appeal to those who wish to spend time outside with live music in the background. Keep in mind that when you go to see a concert, you may not actually "see" your favorite performer. You hear their live performance "broadcast" over a speaker system to you. This is at the cost of concert ticket. Additionally, you are amid many of people who may or may not be as interested in the music as you are. This is an expensive way to not see your favorite performer and only hear them through a speaker system that could be drown out by wine and cheese eating buffoons.
McCormick Auto Care
We've been taking our cars here for years. This is the one auto shop we trust for expertese and honesty. The proprietors are known in the community and have a loyal following.
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort
This moderate Disney resort has three pools, a poolside restaurant, a casual dining restaurant and an upscale restaurant. This makes this much more than a "moderate" resort, but classifies it as "luxury" as far as our family was concerned. And, of course, the Disney service abounds.
