Good Greek food at great prices. This place is usually busy but the line goes fast and the food is prompt though on a busy night there might be a wait. These are such decent guys that they tell you how long it will be. Parking can be a problem but the search is worthwhile as the dolmathes are divine, the mousaka a must and the lamb shanks luscious. One of my daughters always has souzoukakia which are freshly prepared and the other a lamb and beef gyros sandwich. The best part though is the pita bread with tzatziki sauce and the buttery with a hint of lemon Greek roast potatoes
What better recommendation for a restaurant than French families eat there?
The food tasted delicious, neither too spicy nor too sweet and the presentation was exquisite. The bread was out of the ordinary too. The service was just as it should be- unobtrusive. All this behind an unassuming shop front in a strip mall.
Where else can you buy your vegetables amongst antiques whilst listening to classical music or even a live jazz band?
There is a good choice of fresh vegatables and fruit. There is also a good selection of bulk purchase grain and nuts, many varieties of milk- organic, not organic, soy. You can even eat breakfast and lunch there and coming soon is afternoon tea!
Good coffee, good fraps, comfortable comfy seats. Good location right at Hwy 6 and I10 makes it a good place to meet up with friends. You can even sit outside and enjoy the Houston summer weather in the shade.
Smell the hot, freshly baked French bread - or maybe its Italian. It's good whateve it is and then move on to the cheese selection. They have real English cheese and real English tea. It almost reminds me of passing the bakers shop on my way to the grocers store fifty years ago.
We took them a hodge-podge of computer and computer parts, somehow, a few visits and a few weeks later we had a working computer. they persisted until they fixed the problem and were always polite and kind.
It's good to find a non-chain eatery in this area of many restaurants. They serve well presented food in reasonable size servings. I can eat it all without feeding the dog tomorrow. the food is a bit too spicy for my European taste and the salad dressing too sweet. This area of town would be glatronomically poorer without Bistro 829. my family like it.
