Boxers Bar & Grill is a nice little bar for people to drink, to socialize, and to discuss current events (okay, maybe not the third one). Ever since finding it a while back, my friends have been frequenting this place whenever we want a relaxing Friday night. If you would like to visit this place, make sure you go on Fridays only, as it seems like the best employees only work on Fridays.
Fresh and raw seafood will smell, no doubt, but Mandarin Trading Chinatown Seafood does not try to hide the stench that sink into your clothes at all. And with their poor customer service and the crowd that is always there, the stench of seafood and dead animals from the sea will have ample time to get into your clothes.
For a pretty small store, Broadway Cigars and Liquors have pretty good prices, accompanied with a good selection of wines, liquors, and spirits. My friend usually ends up shopping here for his cigar and cigarette needs, and he tells me that their prices beat the stores around the area. I'm not a smoker nor am I a drinker, so I can't really say much regarding my own experiences.
I have been to North Beach Market & Deli about a total of five times now, and I have been having pretty enjoyable experiences. The prices for their products aren't the greatest, but you can't really expect much from a regular market owned by probably just one guy. However, their deli is pretty good, and the guy who works there will make your sandwiches pretty quickly.
Because North Beach Video is my friend's favorite video rental store, I am found here pretty often as she likes to rent movies to watch at home. We haven't been going here for long - just since about half a year ago when the Blockbuster in the North Point Centre closed down. Although North Beach Video does not have the great amount of titles that Blockbuster has, it really does use its small size well, and all their rentals are nicely priced as well.
Right next to the main Cable Car station in San Francisco's Downtown sits the best flower stand in the area, popular for both tourists and locals alike. You can buy flowers, all fresh and nicely-wrapped, quickly and for good prices, considering that it's a flower stand and not a real florist shop.
My friends and I went to Pyramid Liquor after several long basketball games, and was happy to see that the prices at this store for drinks was better than most liquor stores in the area. However, the snacks and such weren't of the best prices, so there really is nothing special about this this liquor store. My friends tell me the liquors here aren't of the greatest prices either.
The employees at Pet Food Express deserve a round of applause. They are some of the friendliest employees I have seen in any type of store. The place is cheaper than most other pet food stores, such as Petco and even Pet Club. The environment welcomes customers with open arms, as the place seems to be clean almost all of the time. Definitely worth a visit for pet lovers.
Sweet Joanna's Cafe, located right on the edge of the Northpoint Center, is a place that I have passed by for years without entering, but now that I have started buying food there, I think I will continue doing so. There is a wide selection of food, from baked goods to complete meals (including vegetarian-friendly dishes) and good smoothies, all for a decent price. There is barely ever a line, so you will not have to wait too long to get what you ordered.
Cafe Neon is one of my favorite cafes in San Francisco. To start, it has a very nice interior, with more than enough tables, and even a few sofa seats that you can sit, eat, and relax on. All of the food, although somewhat pricey, comes in very large portions, so that you can go in hungry and leave very full. The service there is awesome - the employees all seem to be sincerely nice people.
