Plato's closet sells and buys used clothing but the prices are just okay. If you are lookign for some name brand clothing at discount prices then perhaps this is the place for you. There are several different locations around the twin cities including minneapolis, burnsville and a few others and every store has something different to offer. Beyond clothing, they also offere used or as some would say, vintage shoes and accessories but you have to really dig deep to try and find some good deals on some qualitity stuff. I think you would have better luck and get higher quality stuff by shopping major stores during their offsale clearance or visiting one of the local outlet centers.
Park Tavern is a ton of fun! They have great bowling, wonderful food and server alcohol as well. They play lots of music and on certain nights they also offer karoake (not everyone is a professional singer, hah)! It is a great place to meet colleagues and just hang out. Be careful though, if you are planning on just bowling make sure that you either call ahead or plan your outting on a day when it is not too busy because they don't have too many available lanes and sometimes you may have to wait quite awhile before a lane actually opens us.
Ughh! I am not a fan of Cub Foods. I always find the staff to be very rude (espcially when using coupons) and the store always seems to have that dirty feeling. I rarely go, only when there are major sales that I can't justify missing, like the buy one get one deals and chicken and turkey. Other than that, no way! I would never purchase produce here as I feel like the quality at rainbow or even super target is much better. I also think that the store is not very organized and often times their sale items run out very quickly and they restock them until the sale is over. Overall, not worth the time or savings generally.
Rainbow foods is by far the best grocery store in the area. It is the cleanest and most organized and offers competitive pricing. The best deals are when the offer the 10 for 10 specials and then you can combine them with coupons and get tons of savings! The store is always very organized and the staff is very nice. The are open late unitl midnight so you can always find time to get your grocery shopping done. Roundy's is the generic brand that they offer and on most items if very comparable. I would highly reccomend this store over cub and county market.
The Burnsville Center is a great alternative to the mall of america when you are looking to shop for just a few items and dread going to the large mall. It never seems to be too crowded and there are plenty of stores to choose from. The mall has larger department stores such as Sears, Marshall Fields, JC Penney and also smaller retail chain stores like Victoria Secret, Gap, Children's Place, etc.
There is a great foodcourt with lots of food to choose from which is quite good for a mall. It is also surrounded by many other shops and tons of sit down type of restaurants and offers tons of parking.
Every once in a while the mall offers great craft shows which call always be a lot of fun. I know they at least offer in October but am sure there are other months as well.
Archivers offers everything a scapbooker could ever need! They have tons of paper , stickers, album and accessories to choose from and best of all, everything in their store is acid free so you are assured that you are creating long term memories. They also offer a workshop space in the back so that you can use if they aren't offering a class at that moment. Speaking of the classes, if you are really into scrapbooking, you can sign up to join one of their classes and get some great tips and advice that you otherwise might not have though of. You can use their die cut machines when you purchase their paper and they also have a section for stamps. Make sure that you sign up for their mailing list because they offer fantastic coupons that will save you lots of money.
This is definetely the place to go if you are starting out in freshwater, or saltwater aquaria. Their staff is extremely knowledgable, and have a lot of experience to share with someone who is just starting out in this hobby. They have quite a large selection of supplies and if there is something that you cannot find, they will order it for you. Best of all, they offer Freshwater and Saltwater available by the gallon in case you do not have access to your own unit to fill your aquarium with. They also have a wide variety of special fish to chose from and are located in Richfield on 66th street. Warning, they are not much to look at from the outside, but definitely worth going to!
This store is huge, boasting two separate levels. They carry everything that you can think of for baby needs. From clothing to furniture, toys and little boutique items. Beware, this store is very pricey, especially when you are looking to purchase furniture. However, because they seem to have more of a boutique type atmosphere, you will often find one of a kinds items including high end baby needs that you can usually only find at very high end deparment store. I would reccomend if you are looking to purchase a gift for someone and want to make a good impression or if you have lots of money to spend.
PROS: lots of variety
This is a fantastic local newspaper that will either deliver to your door step or you can access them via online. They offer all of the local news, but also have a wonderful classified section that allows you to trade or donate or recycle items for a nominal fee. They also offer free announcements, such as birth, engagment, wedding, etc for free. The prices are very low and you receive a one paper weekly every Wednesday. Additionally they have a section where you can read all of the police calls/reports for the week prior so you are always on top of what is going on in your neighborhood and surrounding areas.
Bob's has everything that you can imagine. From 1000s of plant choices to trees, evergreens and shrubs. They have everything you need to do all of your landscaping by yourself and even offer and yard and gargen planner that will help you plan everything out. The staff is very knowledgable and will work with you to determine what will best suit your needs and what will work best in your environment, i.e. shade, sun, water, etc. Above all the prices are very competitive.
