Mt Holly Ski Area
Mt Holly is a nice ski center. The prices are good and they do offer group rates. The hill is not a hard hill, so it is good for every level. They make snow, if there is no snow. It does not seem to be very busy, so you do not have to worry about running into people. They do have ski and boot rentals. The bar is a nice place to go and relax if you need a break or if you are waiting for someone who is skiing.
Motel 6
This place is ok for a Motel 6. There are alot of parties on the weekends or after special school dances. The rooms are cheap and do not offer much. I think they do have a outside pool. The employees seem to be nice, unless you are making to much noise.
Economy Motel
This motel is gross. They have alot of drug traffic during all hours of the day and night. Some people live there, I guess you can rent it by the week or month. I have never been inside a room, but I have seen the outside and that is all I had to see to know that I would not like to get a room there. I would pick another place to stay.
Joe Byrd Boxing Academy
This gym is for someone that is serious about boxing. No frills just hard workouts. They do have trainers that will work with you. The owner is the father of Chris Byrd (boxing champion). Alot of the family works there and they have alot of experience.
Flushing Lanes
This bowling alley is a fun place. Alot of the local people hand out here. It is a smaller bowling alley, but you can usually get a lane with no problem. The snack bar is good and the bar is fun. The employees are very nice. Meet your friends there for a good time. Relax.
Amf Town & Country Lanes
They do have some pool tables at this location. Since it is a bowling alley the tables are usually busy. It is smoky and runed down. It is not for the serious pool player, but you can have fun. They also have some video games. The employees can be moody.
Pro Clean
I have gone here many of times for my dry cleaning. They can get it back to you the next day or the same day if you go early enough. They have good prices and run a lot of coupons. The laundrymat part is nice there are always people in there doing their laundry. Proclean has many stores in this area. The employees are very nice.
Smoker's Palace Ix
This store is quite busy. They seem to sell alot of cigar and pipe products. I was surprized when I stoped in there with my friends. They had a large selection of imported cigars. If you like the smell of cigars you will love the smell of this store. The store is clean and well organized. Stop in and check it out.
Flint Institute of Barbering
This is a barber college, so it is students that work on you. A friend of mine went to school there, so I would always go in and have him do my hair. Sometimes I would have to wait awhile because alot of people go there because the prices are so cheap. You might want to call ahead to see when they are seeing customers because the hours vary.
Jerry The Tailor
This is where my dad and I usually go to do our alterations. They do a good job and will get it done for you as fast as possible (usually the same day). The store is small and the area where you try your stuff on so they can measure you is small. There prices are average.
