Ho Tai Printing & Book Store
I would not recommend this place because they are way too expensive for invitations. I had invitations printed here once and, first off, they had a minimum order of 100 invites. Then they charged me for every little thing. The color of the ink, the color of the paper, the size of the paper, the assembly, and the return envelopes! It came out to about $250.00 for 100 invites and I only needed 50. I found another place that is much better!!
Lauretta Printing & Copy Co
I've been coming here for years to get invitations printed and they are wonderful. The service is quick and the quality is superb. Also, their prices are really good too! I like the fact that they have a ton of samples to show you and they don't charge an arm and a leg for special sizes or colors. I've also done a couple of posters here and I love this place. The staff is friendly and well informed.
Globetrotter Travel SVC
I've tried them before based on a recommendation and I wasn't too impressed with their service or their level follow up. It seemed that once they booked my trip, it was harder and harder to reach someone to ask questions about the status of my tickets, about flight info, etc. I was a little disappointed as most travel agencies rely heavily of customer service and follow up but, apparently, this company lacked both. The prices were a little better but I would definitely pay more just to have that piece of mind in the future.
Sunset Glass Inc
I've used this place when we had to replace a kitchen window and they are super fast. I called them and they walked me through getting the measurements and then I went to their shop to pick out a type of window. Placed an order and the window was installed in 2 days. Talk about fast service and the price wasn't too bad either. I will definitely use them again when I need to change out a window. They were really nice too! The installer even left me some window cleaner after he was done.
Sapporo Ya Japanese Restaurant
I enjoy eating out and this place is one of my favorite places to go to for dinner. It's relatively quite and not too crowded and the food is always fresh and tasty. I especially like their chicken teriyaki as it's never dry and the salad dressing is a mixture of sesame and sauce that is light and very refreshing. I would say this is one of my top restaurants to frequent and my boyfriend and I always go here for a 'date' night. The waiters are sometimes a little slow but the food more than makes up for it.
Taraval Kitchen & Bath Supply
This place is wonderful when you're searching for that certain hard to find kitchen item. They stock just about anything you'll ever need for your kitchen, bathroom and household stuff. They also have a ton of knick knacks that you can browse through like ear picks, little plastic kids spoons, drain catchers, and more items than I can ever name. The prices are super decent as well. Parking is kinda hard in this neighborhood, but if you find a space, you'll probably want to spend at least an hour at this store.
Pleasant Travel Svc
I love to travel and take short weekend trips as well as the longer one or two week trips. Whenever I find a deal on the internet, this place can pretty much either meet or beat the price most of the time. I also feel that it helps to deal with an actual person face to face rather than over the internet so I always end up here. Also, it helps to have a ton of color picture catalogs to reference when you go to a travel agency.
Three Bee's Nursery
Here is another place I like to frequent to jazz up my garden and herbs. They sell mulch too, which is a plus. I like to buy plant food here because their prices are so reasonable and the people that work here are so knowledgeable and can give you advice on your gardening situation. I also like to buy plants here to jazz up the office. Can't ever have too many plants at work, right?
Taraval Hardware & Svc Co
When you're toilet is leaking or you need something really minor and don't want to drive the 10 or 15 miles to the nearest Home Depot, this is the place we go to. It's just a couple of blocks away and we can always pick up what we need. They are also open 6 days a week except for Sundays. Prices are a little higher which is to be expected in a local hardware store, but with gas prices as high as they are now, you'll come out ahead in the long run.
Sloat Garden Ctr
I love coming here to browse and see what I get for my garden. I especially like the fact that this place is not like the large chain store type garden areas. The people that work here are knowledgeable and friendly and will give you recommendations based on where you live, amount of sun the plants will receive and how much you want to spend. Their annuals and bulbs are always guaranteed and I can just call them if I have a question on planting or trimming.
