Sogo Bakery
Sogo Bakery has a large selection of delicious baked goods and yummy cakes. We always order our birthday cakes here. The prices are decent and the selections aren't too sweet - perfect for Asian tastes.
Sage French Cake & Coffee
Fantastic Japanese / European bakery. Not overly crowded and very low key. Adorable place to relax and have a pastry from their gourmet selection. I love going here with my boyfriend when we're taking a study break for a sumptuous treat.
Fashion House
Great location next to Marina Foods. Often has special promotions / gifts for Shiseido products because it is a Shiseido retailer so you'll often find gifts available here that are not available at Macy's or any other department store.
HP Pavilion at San Jose
Ice shows, tennis tournaments, concerts, circus, etc - you name it and they've been to the HP Pavillion. This is a fantastic venue for large events. Plenty of parking and located in the midst of Downtown San Jose where there are plenty of attractions and restaurants - unlike other venues located in the middle of nowhere.
Ballet San Jose School
Recently saw a performance of The Nutcracker during the holidays and it was delightful. There are pre-show parties, known as the Sugar Plum Fairy party where you can meet the cast. Puts on an excellent show with live orchestra below the stage. The Center for Performing Arts is decorated beautifully and it is a wonderful family event.
Foothill College
Has an awesome observatory that is open to the public. Knowledgeable professors and interesting courses. Also offers a youth program, known as the Academically Talented Youth Program (ATYP) that allows junior high students to take classes at Foothill after scoring above a certain score on the SAT.
De Anza College - Information Center
Consistently ranks in the top three junior colleges. Excellent professors (including Nicky Yuen for Poli Sci, Bambhania for math, Newton for physics) and helpful adminstration. Many students who do a decent job transfer to Top 50 Four-year Universities. De Anza was a wonderful place to go. The library is also a great place to study. The Flint Center often houses performances by the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra, Jewel, Yu Lina, etc.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library
Being large, it has a huge variety of books but it is somewhat inconvenient to be going up and down to find different books. There are always a lot of people and because it's so big it doesn't give the same feeling a comfort that a smaller library gives. I would recommend the Cupertino Library instead or the De Anza college one - you feel less lost and it feels more intimate and relaxing.
Cupertino Library
The Santa Clara County Library System is consisently ranked the No. 1 Public Library system and Cupertino is no exception. After several years of reconstruction, the new library is beautiful. It has an outdoor, sunny patio for reading, a giant fish tank, etc. Librarians are also always very helpful and friendly.
Pure Water Stores Incorporated
If you're really picky, you might be able to taste something, depending on what you currently drink. For example, some people who drink Kirkland water think Arrowhead has a slight taste to it. But the prices are decent and they allow you to rinse out your water bottles before filling so I used to like going there. However, my son said the water tasted different to him so we stopped.
