Allied Model trains is simply and amazing store for not only the model train enthusiast. It is incredible to walk around the store to look at the sheer variety of parts, buildings and accessories for any train set. Highly recommended if you have any interest in model trains.
They offer cash/credit for used games and systems and sometimes the offers are pretty good. Their fairly large used selection has very good prices and are a much better deal than any of their new products. Easy going store with a low profile atmosphere.
I've only bought lei's from Mahalo Flowers before. The quality is impressive and flowers are always very fresh. However, the prices are pretty high, running about $50 per lei, but I haven't been able to find good quality lei's in los angeles besides at Mahalo. Their lei selection is limited, but the classic Orchard lei is the only one I would get anyway.
Products seem overpriced relatively to other Comic stores I've been to. The individual sports cards seem especially pricey. They do have a large selection of older comics, but pricing is also a little steep on them as well. Good place to find a specific comic to fill your collection, but otherwise there cheaper alternatives.
Recently had a bad case of water damage and a soaked carpet. As a result my carpeting got extremely dirty from the planter outside. Chem dry is a very efficient service. They came on two occasions, first to strip and pull the carpet and lining and partly air dry it. A few days later, they returned to clean the carpet and re set it. The carpet dried very fast and didn't immediately attract dust and dirt to it.
Kind of dirty casino that is a definite downgrade from Las Vegas, or even other California Casinos. Not very well lit and has a gloomy, depressing atmosphere at times. A nice sized poker room, with the usual limits, and the normal California Card games.
The food is unusually bad, so I would skip any kind of eating at the casino.
Huge poker room with limits ranging from 1-2 to no limit. They have price ranges for any kinds of players, from beginners to the more gutsy. The waits for the lower limit tables can be formidable, but they also open up new tables from time to time.
The casino itself is nice for California. Very clean and simple, but no comparison to Vegas. Great place to go if you just feel like playing a couple of casual games.
Back when I used to go camping, I always made a stop here to pick up any supplies I needed. Huge selection and worth a browse even if you aren't in need of anything in particular.
Very small and cramped bookstore with a very great atmosphere. Books are piled up everywhere and they have a small, but complete collection with every subject matter you are interested in. I picked up a couple of old comics by Matt Groening that I used to read when I was a kid. Good prices, with on going specials. I always try to stop by if I'm in the area.
Went to this store as alternative to the store on campus. They carried only half the books I needed and at prices that didn't justify the walk to the store. I'd rather spend money at the student store to at least support the school somewhat (although they still do price gouge). Staff was unfriendly and seemed to expect students to be stealing from them. Would not go back.
