Fernbank Museum
This is a neat mueseum that has dinosaur bones and other artifacts. There is also an IMAX theater, and they "Martinis at IMAX" every Friday night which is a lot of fun.
Robert W Woodruff Arts Ctr
This is one of Richard Meir's premiere works, and with the new Renzo Piano addition, it is a truely nice piece of architecture. The collections are nice and they typically have a really neat visiting collection. I also recommended doing "Jazz at the High" which is on Friday nights.
Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
This is a great venue to see conerts in over the summer and they have a really nice summer series. The ASO is partnered with them and do a lot of unique shows.
Galloway School
This is a small private school located near Chastain. The classes are small in size and tend to be quite diverse. Sports are somewhat limited due to the school site.
Pace Academy
This is a nice private school in Atlanta that has more of a focus on the performing arts. There has been a recent expansion at the school with new facilities added.
The Westminster Schools
Westminster is widely regarded as not only the best private school in Georgia, but one of the top in in the nation. Their students consistantly out perform others and are admitted into the top schools across the country. The campus resembles a college campus and the teachers are dedicated and exciting.
Green's Beverages
Green's is located on Ponce in midtown. They have a great selection, particularly of inexpensive but still great wines. The employees are all very knowledgable, and their prices cannot be beat (especially if you pay with cash).
Mac's Beer & Wine/Midtown Lqr
Mac's is a Georgia Tech staple and has just recently moved into a nice new, large building. They have a good selection, there is always someone working that can answer your questions, and the prices are pretty good.
la Cour Photography
Check out their website, you will be so impressed. Their pictures are just stunning. They are somewhat pricey (for their wedding packages), but trust me, you get what you pay for, the end product is simply stunning.
Nothlight Photography
Norhtlight has taken the pictures for 4 of my friend's weddings, and every single one came out wonderfully. The couple is SO nice to work with and you get your pictures in a reasonable ammount of time.
