The College Mall has gotten way better in the last several years. The addition of younger trendy stores has been such a good move. makes you wonder why it took so long to get an Abercrombie and Fitch, and Hollister and Charlotte Russe and American eagle here. I guess college students aren't known for buying clothes. One problem...Dick's sucks.
This mall is kind of a big mess, but i guess they designed it that way. It's cool if you live really close and need to shop for 4 or 5 hours on end. Not the best place to just run in and get something. We call it the mall of the Newly-Wed and the Nearly Dead.
Glendale used to be such a dive mall. We always called it Gundale. It seems to be getting better. They have done a lot of construction and added stores like Steinmart and also a branch of the library which is weird to be in a mall, kind of but nice also. The Old Navy there has better sales stuff than castleton because there aren't as many shoppers. Too many Mall walkers though.
I am torn between giving this mall a 3 star or a 4 star rating. I think they must go through some financial difficulties regularly. The store set up these big shiny new stores and then 6 months later they are gone. Must be hard to stay in business there when the Northside is so much better for shopping. Still, it is a fun place to go and look around. Security sucks though. I have seen people get their bags snatched and no guard to be found.
Now this is a cool museum! It's really cheap compared to the rest of Indy 500 events and attactions. $3.00. And it's so cool to be able to see those cars up close and to be able to see how they have changed over the years. You don't have to be a total gearhead to enjoy this place, but don't take a girly girl who hates cars and racing. Trust me on that one!
Even if you have never been to an open car race before, you will enjoy going to one at the Indianapolis speedway. It's just so cool. I had no idea how much fun it was before my first race about 10 years ago. I have also been to the formula one race and nascar race there and they are a blast too. Nothing beats the Indy 500 though. And it's a big old party for that one week. Thank God it's not a month anymore. My liver couldn't take it.
The Children's Museum is a fun place to go even if you are just an overgrown child. I went with a friend to see an I-max or whatever it's called at the museum and while we were waiting to go in i was looking around the place a little and it seemed pretty cool. Long story short, I went back with a girl. It's good for dates because there is a lot to do and you get to act like a kid and if you can't stand your date you can pretend to be interested in the cave, or train, or the polar bear. And it is interesting.
The Monroe Bank is a really nice bank. The main branch is located downtown on Kirkwood, but they have several other locations around town (maybe the county?). Anyway, everyone I have ever encountered there has been super nice and helpful. They cash checks there for people who don't have an account with them but have a check written to them from someone who does, for no charge.
This is a good place to go if you have multiple insurance needs. Or if you like having a local insurance guy. He is real nice. He can get you insurance for your car and renters insurance and disaster insurance. those are the only ones that I personally know about, but I am sure there are more.
Man do not go to this doctor. He sucks. He makes you wait forever, acts like he's nice, but he doesn't really listen to you. You don't really realise it until you get home that he hasn't addressed all of your problems and forget about ever being able to talk to him on the phone. The crew of Gestapo nurses just won't let that happen. Everyone at that office is rude. Except the pregnant girl. I will NEVER go back there. You shouldn't have to feel like your doctor is doing you a favor just doing his job. And taking your money!!!
