Eastern Market Fine Sweet Shop Bakery
The Eastern Market has a great selection of food vendors inside the building and a huge number of craft vendors on the sidewalk. The butcher located inside the market has great quality meats. Lines can be long and they run out of certain things so go early for the best selection. Orders can be placed in advance. Parking is difficult all over DC but you can usually find something fairly close.
Mo Mo Bakery
Mo Mo is mainly a Korean bakery located caddy corner to a large Korean grocery store. The cakes are beautiful and very fresh. Like most of the Asian bakery products they are light and not overly sweet. Cakes are available for special occasions. Plenty of parking available in the shopping center.
Pat's Lawn Mower Services
I've brought many mowers and trimmers to Pats and have always received excellent service. Repairs are done quickly and if it's not worth the cost of the repair she'll let you know. The shop is easily to find, right on Rt 198 in a converted garage. Parking isn't a problem.
Fiberworks
This is a tiny shop in Ashton. They carry some absolutely beautiful yarns.There's a great selection of speciality fibers, wools, mohair, ribbon and naturally dyed fibers. The employees are quite helpful. Parking is not a problem.
Beadazzled
Bedazzled has a great selection ob beads and jewelry making supplies. They have some very original beads that can be quite pricey. They also have nice quality moderately priced beads. The employees are very helpful and know their craft. If it wasn't for the lack of paking I'd have given 5 starts. Onstreet parking in this area is next to impossible.
Positano
Positano has delicious food. The restaurant looks bigger than it is and is divided cleverly. The menu has your basic Italian selections all carefully prepared. Their osso bucco is great.
Walter Fehr & Son
Fehrs has a beautiful selection of plants, trees and shrubs. Besides what is outside there are a few greenhouses full of plants. Everything that I have purchased here has been extremely healthy and has grown well. They also have a nice selection of fountains and garden accessories. Ample parking is available.
Good Hope Garden Inc
This nursey carries some very pretty unusal plants. Quite a bit of citrus and tropicals. They have a nice selection of aquatic plants and some beautiful koi. They do carry some of your everyday annuals and perennials but that's not why you come here. The greenhouses aren't the neatest but they are fun to walk through and discover some lovely unusual plants. The owner is very pleasant and helpful.
Allan Woods Flowers
The shop is small but the space is beautiful. The arrangements are consistantly pretty. Delivery is reliable and prices are reasonable. Onstreet parking in this area can be a problem.
Kids Habitat
They have a nice selection of furniture for toddlers and tweens. The quality of what they carry is very nice and the employees are helpful. It's in a bit of a hard location to find. it's just off the Pike but sort of caddy corner so you can't see the storefront from the road. Prices are a bit high though.
