Most of the guys on base prefer to go here than to the barber shop on base. They don't scalp you but give you a nice clean close cut. The prices are a little higher than I would like to see so I don't always choose to go here. They also have tanning services and a nail salon. Sometimes it's hard to get an appointment as a walk in or you may have to wait awhile. Call before you go. It is close to the base and most of the girls have had years of expierence.
PROS: Close to where I live
I found this one by surfing my providers list of approved doctors. This one is out the back gate from Andrews AFB. I was a little nervous when I went in and saw how small the office was. (At least that's the way it looked.) The doctors here are very professional. The only drawback it has is it usally takes two weeks to get results from tests back. Also, they have another office in Upper Marlboro so they may not always be in the office.
Can't say enough good things about this church. People are very friendly. Lots of military and retired military attend here. Things for the whole family to do. Activities almost nightly. Pastor is very caring. Give this community church a try. They also have a dinner every Wednesday night for a small fee. You need to sign-up the Sunday prior. Bring a friend when you come.
For the most part we've been happy with the center. The teachers have all been wonderful. Cost is pricey but probably cheaper than off base. We pay $559 a month. My daughter has made wonderful friends. She's 4 now and has been going there since she was 8 weeks old. She's really learning a lot. There are 3 Child Development Center's on base. If you're even considering this please put your childs name on the waiting list. Sometimes you can have a LONG wait.
PROS: Close to work.
Sometimes this place can be too loud. Especially if you have little ones. The smoke at times can be thick. However, the service and the food are very good for the area. (One of the nicer resturants in Clinton.) Try the crab imperial. I love it. They usually have specials too. The clam chowder is very chucky and creamy. Prices are a little high. Also, you can play keno here. (At the bar)
CONS: Location - Beside a liqour store - I have a little one so it does matter
One of the better chinese resturants in the local area. We've tried many and this is one of the two that we keep coming back too. We always have chinese Friday at work and this is our restuarant of choice. My favorite dish is the green beans with pork lunch special (L20). (Ask them to make it spicey) They never take long to make your order so this is a good choice if you're in a hurry. Also, sometimes we've placed up to 13 orders and they've never forgotten anything.
PROS: Great Prices - Love the Lunch Specials
One of the better places on base to eat. They're hours are 10:00 to 3:00 Monday through Friday. (Don't go looking for a rib dinner here on Saturday and Sunday) Prices are very reasonable. You can get a chicken & rib dinner for $6.00. This comes with bread and two sides. The macaroni salad is not to be missed. It's extra creamy. The only drawback to this location is that there's no phone so you can not call the orders in ahead of time. This restuarant is our little secret on base.
PROS: Lots of Food.
CONS: Hours and No Phone
Red Lobster is one of our favorite restuarants. However, they're crablegs leave something to be desired. You're better off getting a pound of crablegs steamed at your local grocery store. (Cheaper Too!) We've always been able to be seated rather quickly and they have allowed me to make substitutions when requested. Service here is better than most area restuarants. Everything else on the menu is very good. This is only my opinion.
PROS: Good Seafood.
CONS: Can be Pricey.
La Tolteca is located on Crain Highway in Waldorf, Maryland. I was introduced to this restuarant by a friend. We've been back a few times since our initial visit. Our favorite is the bean dip, make sure and ask for it "Spicey". They will kick it up a notch. The most expensive thing on the menu is $12.50 and that is for Shrimp Fajitas at dinner. They do have weekend specials so be sure and ask your server. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Please don't judge this restaurant by apperance. Try the food, you won't regret it!
PROS: Cheap Food
CONS: Small Place
