A friend of mine needed a divorce attorney. They decided to set an appointment with David E. Houston. Their first (and last) impression was so horrible, they decided to go elsewhere for their divorce proceedings.

Their Impression: "Office was in a complete mess. No organization, which was the first "warning" signal. Waiting time wasn't long and neither was their meeting with the attorney. The attorney was so uncaring and EXTREMELY argumentive. Instead of trying to help, this attorney was nonchalant. It was obvious Mr. Houston was not looking out for his client's best interests."

I felt with this kind of negative impression, this review needs to be told-- hopefully, to forewarn other people and save their time.

Hometown Computing

Hometown Computing was the first company we've chosen to access the internet at home. This company believes in being there for their customers every step of the way. If you needed help or if there was a problem, you can call their Tech Support or if possible, email them online. Either way, there will be someone who can assist you. Yes, there were some occasional times when you would get a tech who honestly didn't know what they were doing or talking about. If this happens, simply ask for someone else or better yet, hang up and call again.

The only qualm I had with this company is (at the time) they did not offer DSL. I'm not sure if this still applies or not. If they had DSL, I'm sure we would still be with them today. Unfortunately, with the times changing, we wanted a faster internet service.

On the other hand, we have (and still will) recommend Hometown Computing to anyone who wants a reputable and dependable internet service company.

Digitex

At one time, my family and I were thinking of signing up with Digitex for internet service. Needless to say, after our experience with their customer service, we've decided to choose someone else. Their lack of interest and not returning phone calls was the deciding factor behind this decision.

Sadly, we were not the only ones who had a bad experience wtih Digitex. One of our friends needed their laptop repaired. After two "failed" times and charges, they decided enough was enough.

Because of our bad experiences, we would not recommend this company to anyone.

Rainbow International Carpets

I had the privilge of using this company when we needed our DIRTY carpet cleaned. They were prompt, friendly, and got the job done wonderfully at an affordable price. We opted to get the whole house cleaned since it needed it desperately.

They were very careful with moving the furniture around and didn't make a mess while cleaning the carpet. I was very pleased with their service and wouldn't hesitate to use this company again.

Serenity Springs Salon & Day Spa

While I've personally haven't gone to this place, I have seen the end results of a family member who has. Serenity Springs offers many services for men and women, such as: haircuts, manicures, pedicures, perms, spa packages, facials, waxing, you name it.

Their prices are a bit steep, but if you want positive results, this is the place to go to. I've seen what they can do and it's fantastic. So, save up some money and go to Serenity Springs. You'll be glad you did.

Jackey Lackey Plumbing Inc

It has been a while since I've used Jackey Lackey plumbing services (thank goodness). When I needed their services, they actually arrived on time and were very courteous.. We all know, if you are expecting a house call, not many companies are on time. A Big Plus..

Jackey Lackey has been in business for over 40 years and are very trustworthy. They are licensed and insured, which is reassuring. Their work is highly recommended to anyone who needs a reputable company to service their needs.

National Car Rental

Okay, I'll admit. I'm an Emerald Club Member at National, but this station doesn't have the Emerald Club Aisle. They only have the Booth and Counter. While this may be frowned upon, you should really give this car rental agency a chance. The personalized service you get is outstanding. It could be the location itself. After all, it IS in paradise.

One other comment I would like to make. I have several friends who are not Emerald Club Members and they still rent their vehicles through National. They've always complimented their "expertise service" at National. Definitely a company worth giving a chance on.

Hidden Creek Golf Course

Any golfer loves a challenge, right? Well, if challenge is what you want, you ought to try the Hidden Creek Golf Course. This golf course has been dubbed the "toughest golf course in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex and they weren't kidding. With their 18 holes, outstanding views, onsite restaurant, it's worth giving this course a try. But you've been forewarned: It's NOT easy. To make it easier on the pocketbook, sign up for their newsletter for their "e-Special" savings.

Sheraton Suites Houston Near The Galleria

The Positives:
Great Location- right by the Galleria
Suites are nice, but kind of small.
They have little refrigerators, wet bar, coffee makers, in-room safe, and free internet access in all the rooms.

The Negatives:
No view whatsoever (from 6th floor)
No microwave in suites
"High Speed" Internet Access was slooooooow. it was impossible to access the internet quickly.
EXPENSIVE Restaurants!!

Since I was only here for a few days, this hotel served its purpose. If I was on an extended stay, I would prefer a hotel that was a bit more accommodating.

Cliffs at Peace Canyon

The Cliff at Peace Canyon is a resort that is far enough away from all the action of The Strip, yet close enough to be there within minutes. If you want an elegant resort that offers some tranquility time, then this resort will suit that need to a "T". If you only want to visit the strip, grocery store and even the Freemont Street, then a car isn't necessary when staying at this resort. They have FREE shuttle that will take you and even pick you up in designated spots.

Swimming pool, elegant outside fireplace, free 24 hour interent access, pool table, board games and some resort activities is what you'll find at this resort. I don't think you'll be too disappointed in the accommodations, either. These use to be apartments that has been converted into timeshares. They did an excellent job. A truly beautiful resort that can literally take you away.
