The America West Arena is a great arena located conviently in the heart of downton Phoenix. America West Arena is perfect for concerts, basketball and even hockey. The arena is well designed and well equipped for about any event. It seems to be losing some music concerts to the Glendale Arena, however. I prefer the America West Arena due to its more convient location in downtown Phoenix, but both are truly spectacular event arenas.
Glendale Arena
The Glendale Arena is a fabulous place to see a concert or a hockey game. The sound is surprisingly good for an arena of its size, especially for rock concerts. It appears that the Glendale Arena is quickly overtaking the America West Arena as the musicians choice in the Phoenix Area. One drawback to the Glendale Arena is its location. The arena is located on the west side of the metro area, making for a long hike for those of us in the East Valley. Also nice that parking is included with your ticket.
Navy Pier
The Navy Pier is a great place to visit in Chicago. There is tons of stuff for the whole family to do including IMAX and shops and restaurants. Also, be sure to check out the Ferris Wheel, which provides a great view of all of Chicago. Also, every year the Taste of Chicago Festival is held at Navy Pier which hosts a variety of restaurants and live performances by musicians.
Bank One Ball Park
Bank One Ballpark (or BOB as it is affectionately known in Phoenix) is an unbelievable baseball stadium. Truly, there is little wrong with the stadium. Every seat has a great view of the field (even the $1 seats) and the retractable roof is amazing. There are plenty of facilities and the staff is surprisingly cordial. There is a great selection of food and beverage and there is even a swimming pool. Great place to see a baseball game, but you may think about bringing a jacket as it can get chilly when the air is running.
Bluenote Authentic
The Savvis Center is a wonderful place to see a concert or a hockey game. Despite its multipurpose nature, the Savvis Center is able to adapt to virtually any kind of event and provide a quality experience. Bigger name musicians utilize the entire arena, while smaller artists may use the new Conert Club, which provides an intimate experience by facing the end stage towards the smaller side of the arena rather than the larger. Also, the Savvis Center is a great location for watching a Blues hockey game. There is also ample amenities and facilities.
Grants Farm Tours
Grants Farm is an absolutely fantastic place to bring the whole family. The tour is a lot of fun and the petting zoo/zoo area is also great. Best of all, though, is that admission is free (parking is only a few dollars). Also, be sure to go to the Clydesdale Stables located on the other side of the parking lot (follow the hooves). Also, in the garden of the Farm there are usually free Busch samples. Overall, a great place to bring the family.
Anheuser-Busch Brewery
The Anheuser-Busch Brewery Tour should be considered by anyone visiting St. Louis. I found it interesting to see how the beer was made and bottled, etc. The tour is informative and best of all, you are provided with free refreshments at the end of it. Busch is a staple in St. Louis and this tour helps to show why. Recommended.
St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium
Busch Stadium is legendary in St. Louis as the home of the St. Louis Cardinals. It was always a wonderful place to see a game; however, with its impending demolition, I am looking forward to the new Busch Stadium. The new Busch Stadium appears to be a throwback to the old type of stadiums (such as Sportsmans' Park) and promises better sight lines and the majority of the seats within the foul poles. Busch Stadium was and will always be a great place to see a great Cardinals game.
the fox theater
The Fox Theater has been impressingly remodeled and now is an absolutely wonderful place to see a show. The Fox attracts both top-notch musicians and great broadway shows that are both well suited for the venue. Both the sight lines and the sound is outstanding. The lobby is a little small and can get crowded prior to the start of shows.
Bankers Life Fieldhouse
Conseco Fieldhouse is a classicly designed basketball arena, which recalls Indiana's basketball obsession. The design is, in fact, based on the design of the Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler University, which hosted many a famous high school championship. Ticket prices for Pacers game at least are high, but all the seats provide decent views. The sound at concerts, however, is sometimes a little muddy. Overall, a really nice arena to see about any event.
